"How do you work this?" Darron asked me as he closed the microwave door, trying to figure out how to work it

"How do you work this?" Darron asked me as he closed the microwave door, trying to figure out how to work it. I came behind him and pressed a bunch of unnecessary buttons until Darron's food was finally being warmed.

"Damn! You gotta do all that just to heat up food? This high class as fuck."

I chuckled and rolled my eyes and sat back down on the couch with my beautiful niece Mariah, Darron's three year old daughter. We were watching Doc McStuffins until she found interest in my phone instead.

It's been a month since the baby shower and I'm literally due any day now. I thought I was prepared, but I'm honestly not. The closer I got to my due date which is actually in two days, I get nervous. Just the thought of knowing that I will be a mother to someone scares the fuck out of me. I've prayed numerous of nights that God let me have a safe delivery, but I still have my what ifs.

"Where's your baby daddy?" Darron asked me as he sat on the couch with his food. Soon as Mariah smelled the food, she walked over to her daddy, taking my phone with her.

"He's at work."

"Why is he always working? I thought this nigga sold drugs?"

I shook my head. I made sure Jay stopped doing that after he accepted the fact that he was going to be a father. It was hard and he didn't want to stop, but eventually he did and it also led him to take on more hours at his actual job.

Dealing drugs may bring in good money, but I didn't want him to continue risking his life now that he had someone to look after.

"He stopped, so he had to take up more hours at work."

"Understandable," Darron said looking down at Mariah, "I know I ask you this all the time, but are you ready? It's any day now."

I rubbed my belly and softly smiled. I still can't believe that I'm about to be a mother – someone's mother! I still remember when Jay and I used to creep around, not even expecting things to get this far, but gosh I was wrong.

In just a year and some months, we've been through some rough patches but I truly loved him and wouldn't want to go through this journey with anyone else.

"I'm not ready," I said honestly, "But I have no other choice to be. Are you ready to be a god father?"

Darron smiled as he fed Mariah some of his food, "I've been ready. Remember when we were younger and everyone thought you would be the first one to get pregnant?"

I rolled my eyes thinking about my past in Houston. Everyone thought my ex and I would be the first to have kids because of how long we were together for. I knew deep down that it wouldn't happen.

"And yet, you had a baby right after we graduated high school."

He kissed Mariah's cheek before she came walking back towards me, "Yeah and I don't regret it. Mariah the best thing to ever happen to me."

Soon as she was in my arms, the doorbell was ringing. I kind of figured it would be Tanya and Tae since they put in the group message that they were on their way.

I looked at Darron to open the door and he finally got up to do so. I could hear Tanya and Tae laughing as they walked in.

"Bitch I thought we had the wrong house!" Tanya said soon as she saw me, "And awe, is this your baby, Darron?" Darron smiled and nodded his head.

She came over to pick up Mariah and hugged her tightly. This wasn't Tanya's first time meeting Darron, but it was Tae's. I could tell by the way she was looking at him that she thought he was cute.

"Darron, this my girl Tae. Tae, this is my best friend Darron. I know you two haven't met."

Tae smiled and held her hand out for him to shake, "It's nice to meet you."

Darron smirked and licked his lips, "You too, beautiful." I rolled my eyes at him already spitting game and she haven't even sat down yet.

For the next couple of hours, we sat around and chilled. While Darron and Tae held conversation, Tanya and I held conversation of our own. She was rubbing my belly as I ate the chips she had brought me.

"Aww, baby girl is kicking up a storm." She said in her best baby voice, and she was right. Baby girl was definitely kicking the mess out of me. Nine full months and her kicks has never hurt as bad as it does now.

I winced as she continued playing around in my belly. It became so painful that I had to put my chips down and lean onto Tanya for support.

"You okay babe?" She asked me. I could see the concern written on everyone's face as they looked at me. I was in extreme pain and baby girl definitely wasn't letting up.

I took a couple of deep breaths and tried to stand up, but couldn't. "Are you having contractions?" Tae asked, coming over to my side as well.

I shook my head, "I really don't know. How do I suppose to know?"

"Are you cramping? Like period cramps?" Tae asked.

I nodded my head, "Yes. It suppose to feel like this?!"

"Awe shit," Darron said as he stood up, "She's bleeding!"

Everything was happening so fast and everyone seemed to be panicking. Why the fuck was I bleeding? They all helped me stand, even little Mariah. Soon as I stood up, they spotted the blood which was on my jeans and on the couch.

"Should we call an ambulance or just take her there?" Tanya asked.

"Ambulance will take too long," Tae said, "We'll have to drive. Darron will you drive?"

He nodded his head, "For sure. Tanya, could you call Jay and our parents please?"

While they got everything together, I sat back in pain wanting all of this to be over. I was so happy that they finally sat me down in the car because I was feeling extremely light headed, and if I wasn't mistaken, it seemed as if I was getting ready to pass out.

"Did anyone call Jay?" I asked, softly. I could barely hear myself, so I wasn't sure if they heard me.

"Yeah," Darron said putting his hand on my stomach, "You're fine. Just keep your eyes open and stay with me."

"Jay said he would meet us at Grady. Your parents may be there before us since they were already out and about." Tanya said.

I slowly nodded my head and tried keeping my eyes open. I could feel the blood running down my legs and it didn't feel very comfortable.

"Is auntie BB okay?" Mariah asked in her pretty little voice, making me smile just a little. She was sitting in Tae's lap in the backseat.

"Yeah, she's fine Mariah.. She'll be fine.."
