Ezra: You tease Ezra relentlessly as he gets ready to meet your parents. He's dressed in his best suit with a bottle of wine he spent nearly half an hour picking out, asking you as he walked the aisles which kind you thought your parents would like best. You have to hide your smile when you ask him if he's been practicing his handshake, too, and he laughs as he tells you it's time to go. You're early, of course. Ezra insisted on leaving fifteen minutes sooner than you needed to and he smiles widely when your mom opens the door, offering her his gift. You have to hand it to him, as the evening wears on and he brings up all the right subjects with your parents; Ezra has a knack with them. He'a always been good with people, but he's particularly on form tonight. And when you hug your parents goodbye and head out to the car with Ezra, hand in hand, he looks down and tells you he wanted to be prepared tonight because they're your family, and if they're important to you then they're important to him.

Caleb: You nearly have to drag Caleb out the door on the night he's supposed to meet your parents, and you have a feeling that the 'problem' that stalled you from leaving the house for a good fifteen minutes wasn't a problem at all. He's all gruffness and tough, asking why you think it necessary to get your parents involved when things are going so well with you, but when you arrive at your old house, and Caleb won't stop fiddling with his tie, you understand it's his nervousness that has been driving all his stubborn behavior. Your mom must notice it, too, because she goes easy on him, giving your dad a warning look to do the same. Caleb eases into the evening and begins to relax though, and by the time dessert rolls around, your mom is fawning over him as if he were already part of the family. She senses a softness in him, far away, a piece he thought he'd lost with his own mother. She pulls him into a tight hug when you leave that he holds onto as if it were something he was craving, and whispers in a teasing voice as you walk down the drive, "I don't know why you've been putting that off so long, it wasn't bad at all."

Toby: When you first tease the idea of Toby meeting your parents, he waves it off as no big deal. He's an angel of the Lord, he tells you. He can handle an evening with your parents. So you're a little surprised when Toby stumbles over his words as he introduces himself, and refuses to take off his coat as if it were some kind of security blanket, and keeping close to your side like a little kid. When you're sitting in the living room of your old house with your parents and Toby spills the red wine you brought all over himself with shaking hands, you have pull him into the kitchen to talk. "Just be yourself, Toby. You make a great first impression," you tell him gently as you wipe at his coat and his eyes soften as he gives you a repentant smile. He does better the rest of the night, getting into a discussion with your dad about mythology and it's clear how smart, how brilliant and articulate, and passionate Toby is. You're suddenly very proud of him as you look on, chin in your hand, and he takes your other in his and gives you a small smile, one reserved just for you, as he becomes the angel you know he is.

Jason: Jason never made a big deal out of meeting your parents. I mean, who wouldn't want his daughter to date a guy like him. He was relaxed, confident and most of all sure that your parents will like him. He remembered every detail you told him about his family. What team your father supports, your mother favorite flowers and names of your sisters and brothers. On the day he was supposed to meet them, Jason dressed up nicely. He opened the door for you and kept his self-esteem high. Anyway, this all ended when your father opened the door, pulling you into a hug and sent Jason some ugly looks. After that Jason became clumsiest person. He was quiet most of the time and if he spoke it was usually when someone asked him a question. After some time you pulled him away, wanting to know what's going on. ˝I'm just nervous and I wanna make a good first impression. ˝ he admitted, biting his bottom lip. ˝Don't be nervous Jason. They love you okay? ˝

Mike: For some time Mike didn't even want to hear about meeting your parents. Every time you brought this up, he changed the subject as quickly as possible. But after your mother invited you two to lunch, he couldn't avoid it anymore. Even though, he did everything to buy himself some time. You knew Mike was convinced he's not boyfriend material. He told you countless times he's not the kind of boy, parents would want for their little girl. He wanted, more than anything in the world, to impress your parents, to show them you are in good hands. Day before lunch he spent the day cleaning and asking you everything possible about your family. On the big day Mike got up early, making sure he looked decent. You had to reassure him countless times that he looks good and he'll make a good impression. ˝They will adore you Mike okay? Just calm down. ˝ you tried to calm your boyfriend down before knocking twice on your parents door.
