"I don't even need to change the world
I'll make the moon shine just for your view
I'll make the starlight circle the room
And if you feel like night is falling

Recap
Everything was quiet for a moment, and Sarah didn't reply. Then, everything seemed to happen at once, but still all in slow motion. I heard screams come from the other end of the phone, along with the sound of scraping metal. The screams were loud and vulnerable, and there was a loud crash come from the other end. Then silence.

"Sarah?!" I yelled into the phone, and started going hysterical. Obviously my friend wasn't okay.
I was freaking out, having a full-on panic attack. "Sarah!" I yelled into the phone over my sobs. I fell to the floor and cried, saying Sarah's name into the phone again. I knew yelling into a phone wasn't going to do anything, and I was going to call the police. That's when I heard the sirens coming from her end of the phone. They were loud and filled my room with the noise of a blaring siren. I cried harder as the phone call lost connection. I heard footsteps rushing up the stairs and my father burst through my door. When he saw me crying on my floor, he instantly dropped down and hugged me.
"What happened honey? What's wrong?" He sat me on the bed and hugged me some more. I shook as sobs racked through my body. I was scared shitless, to say the least. And while my best friend was hurt, all I did was sit on my ass, yelling at her through my phone while crying. I did nothing about it, and she just got into an accident. "S-Sarah just got into a-an accident."

The lobby in this hospital was cold and uncomfortable. It smelled a lot like different cleaners, and the fluorescent lights hurt my eyes. Things were quiet as my father and I sat in the hospital lobby. We had rushed to the hospital after he got me to call down. There were two other guys here, too. One had tan skin and longer-brown hair. The other guy had pale skin and curly black hair. They looked as if they could be brothers by the way they talked, but looked nothing alike. They also looked oddly familiar, but I couldn't think of where I'd seen them. The doctor came into the lobby and said, "Are you here to see Sarah?"
I jumped out of my chair and the guys both looked towards the doctor. I nodded my head, and so did the black haired guy. I was confused, but was anxious to see Sarah so I brushed it off. "Come right this way, then. Room 35 at the end of the hallway to your right." My father waited in the lobby, and the tan guy did too. But the black haired guy followed me into the room. I was very confused, but when I opened the door and saw Sarah, I brushed him aside.
"Sarah."
She looked at me with a tired smile. "Day."
She looked sad, and I totally forgot about the guy standing right behind me. I rushed over to the chair next to her bed and gently grabbed her hands.
"Sarah, I'm so sorry. I can't even begin to tell you how stupid I was in calling you." Tears threatened to spill, but I couldn't cry in front of a stranger.
"Day, I should've been careful too. It's not just your fault."
The guy behind me cleared his throat. "Uh, I want to introduce myself." Sarah smiled at me. "Is this your boyfriend, Day? Why didn't you tell me about him?" I laughed and shook my head, blushing a bit. "He not my boyfriend, I don't even know him."
The guy behind me huffed and stepped forward. I was tempted to roll my eyes, but I didn't. My dad wouldn't like if I did that to a stranger. "I was the car you hit. My brother and I were inside that car." He said it with such calmness, yet there was a tint of annoyance too. I still didn't even know his name, but I could tell whoever he was, I didn't like him. The way he stood, as if he owned the place, made me angry. The way he talked, like I should've known who he was, infuriated me. The way he looked at us, with that annoying and cocky look, put me over the edge. Sarah could tell I was angry, and she saw it when I clenched my fists. I sucked in a breath and looked him over. "Glad you and your brother are, uh, okay. From the crash, I mean."
The meanness in his eyes dropped a little and he gave Sarah and I a small smile. "I'm sorry that this happened to your friend." He said to me. Than he turned to Sarah. "And I hope you get better." With that, he sat back on the couch across from the bed. Sarah gave him a perplexed look as to why he was staying.
"I want to stay to talk about the money that my lawyers are charging you for damage of my brother's car." Sarah paled and sighed. Her and Blake had money, but not a lot of it. They both worked hard to get money, and I could tell she was frustrated with herself. "I'm going to bring my brother in here and we can talk about it." The black haired boy stood up and got his brother from he lobby.
It seemed like forever before both guys came back in the room. The brown haired guy smiled at Sarah, then turned to look at me. An unknown emotion flashed through his eyes. Longing? But it vanished quickly. "Hello, my name is Derek." He smiled brightly, which made Sarah smile back. She held out her hand for him to shake, and he gladly took it. "I'm Sarah," she said softly. There was a little bit of an apologetic look in her eyes, and I could tell she was also a bit embarrassed that she had caused all this.
For a while, Derek and Sarah talked about the charges that the black haired boy's lawyer was pressing. They also talked about what happened to both of their cars, and joked around about pointless stuff. I zoned out for a little while, but then my phone buzzed and I came back to reality.
Dr. Mark: I heard about what happened to Sarah, and I send my best condolences to you. Sarah's a fighter, and from the data I've collected, she'll be okay. We also need to talk very soon about what's going to happen in a month.
I suck in a breath. Sarah's going to be okay!
Me: I'm so glad she'll be okay, and we can definitely talk soon.
My phone vibrated again, and it was a text from my dad.
Dad: I'm going to leave the hospital, just call me if you need anything.
I start replying immediately.
Me: Okay dad, I love you.
I hit send and look up from my phone. Sarah and Derek are still talking and laughing, but the black haired boy is looking right at me. I smile as I go and sit next to him on the couch. He looks away and crosses his arms. I'm really curious about this boy, he looks familiar. His brother does too, and I've heard the name 'Derek' before. I just needed to ask some questions about this guy.
"So," I started shyly. The black haired boy's attention was on me. "What's your name?"
Being this close I noticed how green his eyes are. He had high cheekbones and a perfect jawline. His black hair was a curly mess, but it looked great. He didn't answer my question right away, he just stared off into space for a few moments. I started to think that he wasn't going to answer, so I turned to face another direction.
"My name," I snapped my focus back to him. "Is Tyler Freeman."

Hehehe.
Also school is out now so I can try to focus more on my writing.
Until next time,
