Breath of the Sea

Chapter 5

Jungkook P.O.V.

It's been about an hour since the bonfire started and I've been by myself the whole time waiting to see if a certain boy shows up

Soon after I find a spot by the bonfire, Hoseok arrives and hugs me, lifting me off the ground leaving me pretty short of breath

I rapidly hit his arm barely being able to say that I can't breath before he drops me

"Mianhe Kookie, I was just really excited to see you" Hobi says, smiling apologetically

"It's okay Hobi, do you know if Jimin is coming?" I ask curiously

He nods before answering "He had to go pick up Taehyung first, and then they'll be here"

I nod, hmm Taehyung actually will be here ...I guess that's good

"I'm gonna go see if Jimin and Tae are here yet, and probably mingle with other people" Hobi says before running off

I nod as I begin to wander around, trying to find someone else I might know

As I'm wandering around I notice that a lot of the females here are ones that I've slept with or dated

Damn, I didn't realize how many people I've been with before. I mean I know some people call me a player but I guess I never realized how bad it was until now

I walk by one girl in particular hoping I can pass by without her noticing me, but I guess I have no such luck as she turns towards me

"Hey Jungkook, I miss being with you" said Jisoo, trying to flirt

I roll my eyes and lightly nod at her

"It's been over a month since we've been together Jisoo, you need to back off" I say walking away from her

"You used to love fucking me when your parents weren't home" Jisoo called after me

I can feel my face getting red as I walk away hoping nobody heard what she said

As I'm walking away I look up from hearing a gasp

I raise my head to see Taehyung standing there with a look of shock on his face

Shit, he must've heard Jisoo

Wait...why do I care if he hears her?

"Taehyung are you okay?" I ask coming up to him

"Y-Yeah...I'm fine" He says looking towards his feet

I look down slightly and notice that he has an oxygen tank with him, causing me to frown, not understanding why he would have an oxygen tank at a bonfire

Shrugging, not thinking much of it I try to talk to him

"So ...how have you been enjoying the bonfire so far?" I ask, looking at him once more

"I uh... just got here so I can't really say" He says scratching the back of his head

"Yo, Jungkook who's this kid? Doesn't seem like the type you'd hang out with. You tryna sleep with Jungkook too?" says some random kid from our class

I don't get to say a word before he runs away, and I turn to see Taehyung's reaction. He looks absolutely mortified and won't even look at me

All of a sudden Jimin comes running up to us and hugs me

"Jungkookie! I've been looking for you, but I see Tae Tae got here first" Jimin says smiling

After noticing the situation Jimin's face falls slightly

"What's wrong you guys?" Jimin says looking between me and Taehyung

"Umm...nothing. I'm gonna go find Hoseok" Taehyung says walking away

"Jungkook what did you do?" He asks staring at me

"What makes you think I did something?" I reply nervously

Jimin give me a knowing look and I finally cave

"Jisoo yelled at me that I used to fuck her whenever my parents were gone, and I'm pretty sure Taehyung heard. Then this random kid came up and said ...some things about him in regards to me" I say looking at my feet

Jimin sighs before looking at me again

"Tae is a rather emotional person, so hearing something like that really upset him. Plus he likes you Jungkook, so hearing another person talking about being with you like that must've really hurt him" He said quickly

His eyes widened after he realized what he said

I frown as I process what he said to me "Taehyung likes me?"

"Shit, I shouldn't have said anything" He mutters before speed walking away

I wander towards the other side of the bonfire and think about the information I just received

Who cares if Taehyung likes me? I'm not gay, so it doesn't matter. Why should I care if some weak ass gay boy has a crush on me?

I scoff as I happen upon a table full of cups containing some unknown alcohol

I take a cup and pretty much down it within a few seconds before taking another one and downing it too

After drinking quite a few cups of the mysterious alcohol, I decide that I'm gonna take one of these girls home and have a little fun

I walk around trying to find a girl that I wouldn't mind being with for the night and get bored after a while of searching and decide to to to locate Hoseok.

After walking around for quite a while I notice that I may have had too many of these, and I'm drawn over by voices near the bleachers

I peek around the corner and realize that Taehyung is on the ground with some kind of weird tubing on his face with tears streaming down his face as Jimin and Hoseok try to comfort him

I can tell based on the look on Jimin's face that he is trying not to panic as he says

"Tae Tae, you need to calm down, otherwise you're going to pass out"

"Really Jimin, that's how you're gonna calm him down?" Hobi says glaring at Jimin

"Heyy guyssss what's goinn oooon" I say slightly losing my balance

"Jungkook, now is not the time" Jimin says glaring at me

I frown wondering why Jimin seems to be mad at me

My eyes wander to the ground where Taehyung is sitting and notice his eyes keep fluttering closed but he's trying to stay awake

Seeing him like that causes my heart to lurch with some unrecognizable emotion

Damn me being slightly drunk right now, I want to help him

Looking back at Hoseok I notice that he's calling someone

"Annyeong Mr. Kim ....Taehyung is having difficulty breathing. The cannula is on, but it doesn't seem to be helping" he says hurriedly

He seems to be listening to what Mr. Kim says before I start to see tears running down Hoseok's face he acknowledges what is said and closes the phone

He leans towards Jimin and whispers in his ear before they pick Taehyung up off the ground and begin quickly walking towards the parking lot

"Where are you guys going? Can I come too?" I ask being mostly sober now

"NO, you've already caused enough damage tonight!" Jimin yells at me as tears stream down his face now too

I take one last look at Taehyung before they go out of my sight

His eyes are now closed and I'm not too sure if he's still breathing
