Footsteps pounding through the halls
Harsh whispers in the air
Stumbling--like you just might fall
Seized with fear
"It's just your imagination,"
I say, but it falls on
Deaf ears and blind eyes still enraptured
By the shadows of pre-dawn
The thoughts become tattered
"It's just your imagination."
Leave the light burning
Up the volume of the static-filled radio
Ignore your stomach churning
And remember, losing yourself in the audio
"It's just your imagination."
