Hair softly curling around my fingers
Body still with sleep
Breathing rhythmic
Before you fell asleep your eyes were red
Tip of your nose glowing pink
Like you knew what was to come
I never tell you, because I'm cruel
Because I don't know how to look at you and tell you I'm leaving
I don't know when or if I'll return to you
As if you could force me to stay with your lips
You kissed me for eternity
Limbs wrapped around me like chains
Hopes that you'll forget me
Gnaw in the back of my brain
It'd be easier for you--a more fulfilling life
Forgetting isn't in your nature
And neither is letting go
Gods know I'll always come back if there's a way
One of these days
I pray I can stay
Just to give you the life you crave
