I was in my last few weeks in Sixth Form after taking my A level Examinations, I was now awaiting for my results. I had applied to the Universities which offered the course I wanted and now had to see which University would accept me. I had never been away from home before and it was a daunting thought. I live at home with my Mum and my younger brother James who is 15years and was still in High School. I am 18 years old and I'm called Kevan.

I was wanting to study architecture at University and get a degree in architecture and then hopefully a good job.  I had one or two friends from school but mainly I hung out with my best friend Robert who lived down the road from me, we had known each other since leaving primary school at 11 years and all through High School and then Sixth Form.

We would spend evenings when he was free playing on the XBox or watching films on Netflix or going to the park for a footy kick about. He was very popular with the girls at school and dated one or two of them but even though he now had a steady girlfriend  he always made time for me, we even let James come with us on occasions.

I had honestly never been on a date although I had girls talk to me at school and shown interest in me. I just don't know what it is but I don't seem attracted to girls. Robert would often try to fix me up to go on a double date with him and his girlfriend Annabell. I did go on a few which they arranged but nothing went further that. I don't know whether It's because I am a shy person or not. I have been brought up by my mother since I was 12 years old, My dad was involved in a car accident and was killed leaving my mum to look after me and my brother which was hard on her, I suppose you could say I was a mummy's boy.

Robert was also waiting for his results and hoping that he had passed enough to get into a University specialising in Dentristry so the chances of us going to the same University were pretty slim.
As none of the universities offered both choices.
