Preparing for University (Chapter 5)

Kevans POV

It has been over a week since the Prom Night and me, Richard and Annabelle had spent that time making arrangements and shopping in preparation for University.

I had received a letter confirming my place on the Architectural Course at Bath University and as with all first year students accomodation was in the University Halls. The Coursework and classes were approximately 16hrs a week plus Lectures, which means I would hopefully be able to get a part-time job, to help pay my way, for food etc.  Luckily my mum didn't have to pay the University Fees or Accomodation Fees due to her being a single parent and not earning enough. But we still had to afford clothes, books, pens etc. and anything else that was needed for me to settle in.

Richard had also heard back from Glasgow University offering a place on the Dentistry Course, he to was being accomodated in the University Halls.

I have to admit that it was daunting for me to think that in a few weeks time I would be at University 200 miles away from home, in a strange city and surrounded by people I didn't know with no friends.  I knew that Richard would survive as he was a lot more outgoing than me and would talk to anyone, his University at Glasgow was even further to go than mine like 350 miles.

The distance between the two Universities was about 150 miles and really only a train trip away, I didn't have a car and neither did Richard, so we would be going to have to catch a Train to get to University, I already had two large suitcases full, plus a rucsac and my laptop bag, it was going to be a struggle.

Its a good thing that we had phones so we would be able to keep in touch with each other and there was also Skype we could video call each other on.

Richards POV

OMG there was so much planning and so little time to do it, I had been notified that I had got a place at Glasgow University for the Dentistry Course, and as with all First years students ad a room in the University Halls, both my mum and dad are low paid so luckily my tuition fees and accomodation fees would be paid for but everything else I or my parents had to pay for,  depending on my course and class work I was hoping to get a part time job to help pay my way. I had had a part time job here at home working at MacDonald's in Town, I hated it but jobs were few and hard comeby, the pay was poor but I had managed to save over £2000, I was going to buy a car but realistically could not afford to.  It was quite a long way from home about 350 miles, I know that Kevan had got on an Architectural Course at Bath University with was only 200 miles away from home.

Myself, Kevan and Annabelle had been slowly getting stuff prepared and bought for University, Annabelle had been offered a course at Liverpool University doing Forensic Science. So we would only see each other on the odd weekend or inbetween Terms which really sucks, I know I am going to miss her a lot and Kevan as well.

Annabelles POV

Since the Proms Richard and me had spent a lot of time together and we included Kevan as well at times. We had been preparing for University, I had been offered a place at Liverpool University doing Forensic Science. All three of us had been busy buying clothes and other essentials for University. Kevan bless him looked lost at times and I really wondered if he would cope away from home, Richard being Richard would get along fine he was pretty outgoing and would make friends easily, I knew that I would really miss him, our nights of romance together, the kissing and cudling and of course the sex (oops did I just say that). We of course would keep in touch by phone, text and Skype calls.
