If that was true than how old was this snake to know of such events in such detail, the Emperor pondered he had a vague idea of what events the snake was speaking of.
"SHE WAS UNJUSTLY FRAMED FOR KILLING MANY PEOPLE. BUT DID YOU KNOW WITCHES ARE UNABLE TO HARM HUMANS."
It was a fact Witches were bound by their nature, unable to inflict harm unto humans in exchange for living alongside them, however, such a weakness became their ultimate and most unfortunate downfall.
Although they didn't voice it out no one believed the snake. But the Emperor didn't resist that idea, in fact, it made perfect sense, he found it strange they were described as powerful beings but if they were so powerful how is it they were wiped out by humans so easily? There was definitely more to the tale and what the snake said fitted.
Furthermore, with what the knight reported it seemed to fit with the witch's behaviour. Explaining the witch's disinterested attitude toward fighting him.
"YOU WON'T BELIEVE ME. THEN LET ME ASK YOU A QUESTION, KNIGHT WHAT CRIME DID THIS WITCH COMMIT?" he could faintly sense their disbelief so he challenged their ideas with a question.
There was silence.
"KNIGHT ANSWER ME! OR IS IT YOU DON'T HAVE AN ANSWER?" the knight looked up blankly unable to come up with an answer that may seem satisfactory. He was stuck if he blurted out an unsatisfactory answer, then what was stopping the snake from killing him?
'That village of ungrateful things. His master saved them all as they were being plagued by famine and illness. They knew of his master's identity and when they took all they could, acquisitiveness got the better of them. Such greedy things'.
Realising he was being too emotional he suppressed his rage and disgust towards the humans and calmed down slightly. Changed his question, "Knight Did They Ask For Some Sort Of Reward When You Came?"
The knight was being looked at by those unfeeling eyes, breaking under the immense pressure he could no longer bear, he nodded fearing for his life "it's true!" He exclaimed nervously.
Most of the people there were very competent and quick to catch on. Adding the few things together his argument became even more compelling. And their enmity for witches decreased slightly. Aware that it was a common thing for poor villages to seek rewards from the knighthood for turning wanted criminals in, and when desperate may even frame another.
"My Master Did Not Commit Any Offense Therefore He Shall Be Charged With No Crime Understood".
Ares was just about to counter, as he was not going to be ordered to do anything by a mere snake below his standings. But just before he could intervene smoke wrapped around the snake's body successfully encasing it from each person's eyes.
"Monarch" the snake addressed Ares as he continued to speak.
"In my absence, you will take care of my master, I warn you to do so properly" the snake continued his voice echoing as he decreased in size. No one interrupted him as they witnessed the odd spectacle.
No one could see him but they could hear a tapping as he along with the smoke beginning to disperse, approached the Emperor.
Gradually as the smoke settled the figures were visible leaving everyone including the Emperor in a state of shock.
That large snake has turned into a person, and not just any ordinary individual; he appeared to be a tall man with a lean but strong frame. His features by far surpassed the human standard for beauty just exceeding that of the royals. The most striking trait that stood out the most was his beautiful silver hair reaching to that of his waist and his extraordinary vertical glowing red eyes.
Like the Witch, the snake had a unique air around him. But unlike the Witch, he protruded an atmosphere being very aware of his standing. Not of nobility which the royals carried, but the absolute superiority of his own very being. Coming off of him it didn't seem conceited but rather appropriate, fitting.
That combination of features solidified his identity.
Someone suddenly becoming aware kneeled immediately striking his chest with his right arm in a salute. Immediately after the rest began to follow suit including the knights kneeling one after the other.
"Should you do a good job, I Dezraah shall accept your challenge human Monarch"
All of a sudden everything the snake said became the truth. Those blood-red eyes, silver hair like the Royals and name his identity was all too clear. He is a legendary person.
And it could be said he was the reason to why the Royalty from Elrador was worshipped so enormously. This fact made the Witch's identity all the more important. There was no sense for that legendary being to lie.
He approached the supposedly unhinged ruler "But remember" he continued in a volume only the Emperor could hear. "If my master is a worm then you are nothing more than the dirt that supplies its sustenance".
The emperor grinned widely not succumbing to the fear from the pure power Dezraah exuded.
Humans Remember This 300 Years Ago It Was Not A Witch Who Wreaked Havok On You. It Was My Unrestricted Rage. Slay My Master and I'll Make Sure to Make Your Wretched Souls Taste the Endless Fiery Pits Of My Wrath.
Whilst saying that he released a boundless surge of power making everyone present shiver uncontrollably, never have they felt death at such a close range. The emperor was one thing but this legends power was in a whole other realm.
It was a wave of many emotions but mostly fear gripped them. As if an invisible blade was pressed against their neck ready to end them at any moment. Even the emperor at a closer range couldn't resist this much power with much struggle he eventually fell to his knees along with the rest. Some even fainted under the supreme power.
The red-eyed man walked toward the sleeping witch. He bent over slightly and stroked the Witches cheek he whispered in a low voice "Master I'll disappear for a while, but I'll definitely return".
Abruptly he disappeared in a flash entering the snake choker the Witch wore.
Finally, the terrifying storm of power finally subsided freeing everyone who was subjugated beneath it.
Haha, an interesting character isn't he
