Jaxon. I tasted his name in my mouth. It suits him, it sounds strong just like him. It's not just about his looks, it is about the way he is. The feeling I got when he was breathing in my neck, the aura that surrounded and swallowed me each time he took a step closer. Something I can't possibly describe even if I wanted to,even if I was willing to. Because honestly, I'm not. I'm not ready to know what it's going on with me, why I feel the way I feel when he is around or why my thoughts always find the way to him when he's not. My whole body resp-
The door was opened and a wavy black haired girl almost jumped to my neck. "Quinn! What are you doing, round two is about to start!"
"Round wh-what?" What was she talking about?
"The fight" she threw me a questioning glare dying to know what had just happened in there that made me forget where I was.
I followed her to the same spot we were in to find that the fight had already started. My mind was still in that room and for ten minutes maybe more all I managed to see were two blurres back and forth in a ring. What brought me back was a feeling of something wet in my left cheek after a resounding thud. Wet and hot, not really knowing what I was describing, the droplet or the tattooed guy on the floor.
Oh, shoot!
All the noise I didn't realise I couldn't hear and my vision came back and it was too much. I observed the guy who made my skin get goosebumps with only his presence wincing and fighting to get back on his feet, he couldn't.
"JC! Get out please, please." Pleaded his little step sister.
I examined him closely. He looked horrible. Everywhere I looked there was blood and black bruises, he was spitting blood and his arms were incapable of lifting his own weight. I then rubbed whatever was in my face and it was a red liquid, blood. His blood.
"Stay awake, you hear me? JC stay fucking awake!" Spencer pushed me aside to take my place right next to Jaxon's head.
But he was too weak. His eyes started to close slowly, his legs relaxed against the cold bloody floor, his torso's up and downs slowed down, his arms stopped trying to get up and his head fell almost lifeless.
"JC, he's coming again! Get the hell up!" This one was Oliver. I thought he was emotionless but I could feel an edge of desperation in his voice.
"Come on! Turn around, just turn around and protect your face." Stephan tried to reach Jaxon but Oliver stopped him.
"You know the rules. No touching the fighters Steph."
"Just give up!" Shouted Lynn. "Tap the floor JC, do it! I know you can hear me please do it!"
"This is Nobility Lynn, there is no giving up!" Spencer yelled to the scared girl to my right.
I watched as the other fighter, Derek made his way to the unmoving body. Was he dead? He couldn't be, could he? Among the cheers of the crowd fast loud noises were the only ones deafening me. I checked his opponents steps but they were slow as he got closer to his prey.
"Please." Cried the girl next to me.
Then something about her previous words hit me. He wouldn't give up, not even if he had the chance to. The Derek guy turned him around so he was facing him now. Then I did the next thing.
I pushed Oliver and Spencer to recover my previous spot. Jaxon's arm hung outside the ring and without giving it a second thought I took it against my better judgement. His eyes shot open and before he could retreat it I whispered in his ear right before the Derek guy dragged him by his ankles.
I may or may not have taken self defense classes. And also I was almost a straight A student before I dropped out of Uni to come here. In fact I was second of my age, so whether this would work or not was based on my anatomy books.
