On the outside, I was perfectly calm. On the inside was another story.
"Ace!" I hauled him up and carried him to the kitchen table. Heaving him upwards I tore open his shirt. There was a bullet hole on the left, underside of his rib cage. I sighed in relief. It wouldn't have hit anything too serious.
Rushing over to the bathroom, I grabbed a pair of special pliers. I went back to ace's side and he started to wake up. Just in case, I took off my belt and made him bite down on it.
Holding the wound open, I started to dig for the bullet with the pliers, I felt something and I grabbed at it, carefully pulling out the bullet I dropped it in the small tray I had brought with me. I shrugged off my knapsack and whipped out some bandages and started dressing the wound. With a sigh, I collapsed into the nearest chair.
"You're a fucking idiot Ace." I'm not a very emotional person, not at all, but that doesn't mean that I can't care. I took deep, slow breaths and closed my eyes. I listened to my breathing and my rapid heartbeat, trying to calm down.
Ace laid on the table his chest rising and falling with his loud and heavy breaths. His blue eyes closed tight, he was forcing his body to hold still, even though he was in a lot of pain. He's always been like that, a big child, until shit got serious, then he was all business. I know in a couple minutes he'll get up and go right back to acting like nothing really matters. I wished he'd just take it easy, that wound won't be healing easy, he'll be in pain for about four suns. (Read authors note for explanation)
"Well Ace, we have a ton of soldiers outside our front door, you're hurt and were cut off from communications of the outside world." I turned my head to look at Ace's unconscious form. Sighing, I shook my head hopelessly. "How in the world are we gunna get ourselves out of this one?
I ended up going into primal- hibernation while Ace healed. Primal-hibernation was our way of cryogenic sleeping I guess you can say.
I woke up a few suns later, a loud noise blaring in my ears. My eyes snapped open, immediately looking for Ace's body. "Fuck," I huff out.
I was hoping this wouldn't happen. It's only happened twice before. When Ace has to heal like this, it's like a switch in his brain turns off. The only thing left up there is the primal urge to kill and his wild instincts. I turn to look at the door, wide open, twenty or so dead body's torn open.
I slowly stand up my legs a little numb. Depending on how long he's been gone it should be easy to find him, capturing him is the trick. I'm not sure I can do it by myself right now.
Walking over to my computer, I sent out a message to the other Resistance members that were close by. I got a few pings back and hailed them. Their faces came up in the screen.
"Rogue?! Didn't expect for you to be the one in danger." The first was a guy named Cas. He had a circle shaped face with a square jaw, round brown eyes and short brown hair.
"That's enough Cas, it's not everyday that one of the Wolf brothers call up for help." The second was a man that called himself Jack. He had a square jaw, and dark brown eyes almost black. An evil looking smirk permanently etched into his face.
An up roar of noise is heard on the other lines as Cas and Jack start yelling, fear and worry in their voices.
"Shut up. You're gunna piss me off." The last person was a guy named Colt. He had long black dreads pulled back into a ponytail, an angular jaw and narrowed black eyes.
"Yeah yeah yeah, I know but this is serious. It's Ace, he's gone off the hook....Again."
