His flesh tore open and stitched itself together as his bones grew, broke, repaired themselves and continued the process over again. His already large muscles bulged and threatened to burst out of his pelt as he gave into his enraged state but before he got fully engulfed in the anger, I could have sworn that I saw slight fear in those insane eyes.

His teeth lengthened, almost fang like now. His body pressing against the silver wolfsbain filled titanium rope. If it wasnt there he'd be even bigger. I've never seen him let it get this far, but I can tell he's scared. His eyes flicker around, frantically, looking for....safety, maybe.

I notice his chest, it looks as if it's ripping apart. The fur, skin, and muscle pulling away from bone. A light glow emitting from deep in his chest. We're.....sentiant beings.  The rope and wolfsbain keeps his body from morphing fully.

We've never actually ever seen our full sentient forms because as far as we knew nobody in our generations,  and for the past hundred generations, was born with the power of Ethereal Life Energy.

If we let him out now, we wouldn't be able to contain him so we ended up dragging him, in the net, to the base where we set him in a custom made cage. The cage we had built from an old prison cell. We replaced the bars with wolfsbain woven titanium bars. I let the net go and bolted out of the cage. Ace struggled with the net as I slid under the quickly lowering door, it slammed shut behind me.

In his twisted mind, he though that it was a good idea to ram himself into the bars. He got knocked back, shook out his fur and snarled.

Seeing him like this was annoying, saddening, and upsetting all mixed into one. I wanted to scream, throw shit, but I'm not Ace and I won't stoop that low.

Suddenly, his body quivered. His fur started to morph again, like the atoms of his body divided and converged back. It did this a couple of times before on the final merge. it's like he got turned inside out to reveal his Sentiant form.

In this form he was Vantablack with what looked like softly glowing, blue, tribal styled designs on his chest that streach down to his underbelly. His eyes also glowed the same color.

The complete one-eighty that Ace had spun into had honestly suprised me. The Sentiant form hadn't been seen for well over a hundred years. The entire room was silent. It didn't move, he just kept staring.

None of us could speak or move. Felix shifted and looked like he was about to say something when suddenly, Ace moved. He shook his fur in annoyance  and huffed.

He started pacing around his cage while puffing himself up. I stepped closer to the cage and he stopped to look at me. He cocked his head slightly with interest. He stepped closer and sniffed me, a look of confusion passes over his features. He steps forward his muzzle pushed between the bars.

My mind went suddenly blank. "Huh?" Was all that came out of my mouth. The bars should have immediately sucked away his energy. I rubbed his snout.

He pushes his head farther into my hand which pushed. Aside. The bars.

"What the fuck!" Felix exclaimed. Ace's eyes opened and he looked at Felix. He Perked his ears up and lifted his head slightly. Felix moved back, intimidated.

Suddenly noticing the area around him, Ace moved out of the cage, checking out his surroundings.

The rest of us didn't know what to do. I was watching with great interest while the others seemed to be on edge. He seemed like he had never seen anything before so I assumed his human brain had clocked-out for his first transformation, I grabbed a notebook and started writing everything down.

He knocked over a cup with his tail which shattered upon impact with the floor, he whipped around so fast I half expected his head to fly off his shoulders, he growled. Everything started to vibrate. It was more of a feeling than an actual sound. I felt it through my whole being like a cold, dark hand had grabbed my spinal cord and started vibrating it.

He slowly calmed down and huffed. He reached down and sniffed at the glass, seeing it as not an enemy, he lost interest and walked away, exploring everything else.

This went on for a while, once he got a grip on his surroundings and where he was, he later laid down and just started watching us.

The rest of us didn't really know what to do so we started cleaning up the glass and replaced the bars, a sudden thought occurred to me as I helped Felix.

What would happen if I had entered sentient form?

Felix snapped his head around, "you really think that's a good idea? With Ace A-wall right now?" I hadn't realized that I had said that aloud.

"Well... I mean it's different for everyone so we really have no idea what's going to happen and I feel like it's better to do it in a controlled environment than in the middle of a barrel where things can start going doubt like nobodies business."

He nodded and was about to say something when Ace sniffed the air, his shackles rose and he stood slowly, ivory teeth shining against the vantablack emptiness, he stalked forward. He started sniffing Felix, he started sweating profusely and which his face this close to ours I noticed that he had smaller blue marked under his eyes.

He started growling again and reared his head back, snarling with an open mouth, seeing that he was about to rip Felix's head off, I pulled him into me. Ace ripped into thin air and I ran out of the place with Felix shoved in front of me. Ace hot on our heels. He burst out of the bunker, looked around wildly and gives chase.

In a split second decision, I shift, grab Felix by the back of his shirt and take off. I gained an edge but was soon tiering, Felix was a lot heavier than I had anticipated and Ace was right behind us.

Panic over took me and in the spur of the moment, I threw Felix to the side, turned around and something inside me snapped.

Everything I had always tried to keep hidden away sudden bubbles up as Ace crashed into me. I was choking as the two of us were sent tumbling, I snapped and pawed at Ace blindly as my vision flooded with darkness.

'Stop fighting' a distorted voice whispered to me. It sounded like someone had layered the voice with others, so it was a strange mix of high and scratchy tones with low, smooth ones. 'Just let go'

It was like something else slid into place, it felt vile and sickening, like I was being covered in black oil that slid down my throat and in my eyes. I couldn't move, breath or see. I tried desperately to control myself as the bomb in me lit its fuse before I felt everything explode in a huge wave of power and emotion outwards before coming together again and I could finally see.

The small clearing that we had emerged in had been completely desolated, changed into a crater of charred earth, the surrounding trees had been knocked down by some sort of shock wave.

"Oh my god..." I said, or rather tried to say but nothing came out, I saw Ace in front of me, on the ground and I noticed that we were pretty much the same size now, but he wasn't moving. I was flooded with concern and tried to move to see it he was ok, but I couldn't.

Nothing I did made a difference. I wasn't in control. It was like someone else had trapped me in a box and was controlling my every move.

Ace finally got up and shook out his fur, saw me and snarled, it was deep and made soot, dust and ashlift off of the ground. A horrible, alien sound pushed its way out my throat in the same distorted, layered tone that had slipped past my defenses.

'No! Don't!' I screamed, but my wolf ignored me, too driven by it's emotions to care to listen. We rushed each other and if I could cry or scream, I would have.
