The Baudelaire were invited to a baseball game Quigley was in. As they sat on the bleachers, waiting for their friends, they Carmelita Spats, in her hot pink cheerleading uniform. "Go number three!" Carmelita Spats yells. "Quigley's number three." Klaus said, exasperated. "Yeah, she'll do anything to get his attention." Violet said. As the team poured into the field, Violet could see the tall boy with a big red #3 on the back of his shirt. Quigley's eyes scanned the bleachers until his eyes met Violet's. They shared a smile until Quigley was up to bat. As he gripped the metal bat, the ball swooshed in air. Quigley hits the ball and the crowd goes wild. He runs around the bases and BAM! Makes a home run. "The buzzer sounded notifying people the game was over. Violet smiled until she saw Carmelita ran up to Quigley, took off his helmet and kissed him right on the lips. Violet looked away, half disappointed and half disgusted. "Let's go." Klaus said in a bit of a stern tone. Clearly he had seen Carmelita. Right before the Baudelaire's were stepping into the orphan shack, they heard a voice. "Baudelaire's!"  Quigley yelled as he was running toward them. "Where did you go? I saw you guys in the bleachers?" He asked. "Shandraw!" Sunny exclaimed. "What my sister means," Klaus said in a bit of a ticked off voice, "Is why don't you ask Carmelita?" Quigley looked down, then looked to Violet. "Please tell me you didn't see that." Violet looked him in the eye. "Too late." "She just came up to me, I had nothing to do with the kiss. I pushed her off and when I looked back up, you guys weren't there." Quigley said with pleading eyes. Violets deep blue eyes filled with forgiveness and she nodded. "Well see you tomorrow then." Klaus said, taking Sunny inside. Before Violet could walk inside the crusty shack, Quigley grabbed her hand. "I didn't want to kiss her." Quigley said with enough sternness to fill a bucket. Violet grew a smile and nodded as she headed inside. The feeling of his had still lingered while she slept.
