Shane and I were called into action on a car chase that was also said to have a hostage. When two of the men were down another man came out of the car with a girl with brown hair and is bleeding in the head probably from the impact. She lifts her head and opened her eyes and anger shot through me. My daughter is being held at gunpoint. I looked at Shane and see him just as angry. She looks around and takes a deep breath and ducks pulling the gun down and a bang went off and the both of them froze and I see them fall to the ground. I ran to my daughter and her eyes are slowly closingn. I tried to get her attention to wake up and the other cops look at me in sorrow.

I went to the school and saw Lori there, waiting for Carl to get out of school. She smiled at me but I didn'tsmile back. I was still shocked at what happened. Shane got out and leaned on the cruiser.

"Is everything okay Rick?" She asked.

"Something happened. I got a call about a high speed chase and the people took a hostage. We got them but one brought out the hostage and held her at gun point. It was Lindsey." I said and tears fell from my eyes. She covers her mouth.

"Is she okay?" Lori asked with tears.

I looked down and I wanted to fall to my knees and just cry. My baby girl could be dying and I will lose her.

"She is in surgery." I sobbed. She hugged me and the bell rang. We looked at the doors and see Carl laughing but stops and a look of worry went over his face and started running to us.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Lindsey. She got hurt today pretty bad." I said. His face went to tears and I hugged him. We rushed to the hospitial and went to the desk asking about her. A doctor came out saying that she made it out of surgery but she is in a coma and knowone knows when she will wake up. We sat by her bed crying. I would come in everyday to be with her and Lori would sometimes go but she stopped after a week saying she can't deal seeing her in that bed looking dead.
