WHAT?

Piper: More mail!

Leo: *leans back against cabin wall with arms crossed* Really? I didn't realize we were so popular.

Jason: We really aren't...

Piper: Anyway, one for Annabeth this time.

Annabeth: Finally!

Piper: *Opens letter* Annabeth, your dare is to head to the nearest zoo with a spider exhibit and stay in there for at least an hour.

Annabeth: WHAT?

Piper: That's what it says..

Leo: That's the easiest dare ever!

Percy: Oh no...

Annabeth: I-I.. I don't do spiders.

Leo: *scrunches eyebrows at Annabeth* Why not?

Annabeth: It's... a child of Athena thing.

Leo: Oh.

Percy: Does it say anyone can go with her?

Piper: *Reads letter carefully* Yes, actually. It says she can pick one person to come with her.

Annabeth: Thank the gods. Percy, you are doing this with me.

Percy: You read my mind.

Piper: Let's do it, now that that has been settled.

Annabeth: Right now? *puts on a brave face*
Yeah, okay. I will.

Percy: Okay. Let's go.

Percy and Annabeth find the closest place with a spider exhibit and head inside...

Annabeth: *takes a deep breath as she steps into the dark, ominous room*

Percy: *holds her hand for support*

All the spiders stop what they are doing and go to the closest part of their cage that is pointing towards Annabeth...

Annabeth: *freezes*

Percy: It's okay, they are in cages. They can't hurt you.

Annabeth: *nods slightly*

Percy: *pulls her deeper into the dark room that is the spider exhibit behind him*

Percy: See? Not so bad.

Annabeth: *breathes*

Percy: *checks the watch Leo gave him* We only have... 55 minutes to go.

Annabeth: Ow!

Percy: What?

Annabeth: There's something on my leg.

Percy: I don't see anything, it too dark in here.

Annabeth: It's a spider.
*whacks at her leg* I think I got it.

Suddenly all the spiders in the room start to bite through the mesh on the top of their cages. The sounds of ripping mesh and scrambling spider legs echo through the exhibit.

Annabeth: *freezes*

Percy: Oh no. No, no, no. Why does this always happen?

*looks at Annabeth*
Annabeth? Come on don't do this.

The spiders make it out of their cages and start to advance down from where their cages were perched in the room.

Percy: *Runs to the doors and shoves them hard. When they don't open he pulls the pen out of his pocket and unleashes his mighty sword; Riptide*

Percy slashes at the door furiously, trying to get it open, but it is no use. Something much more powerful than a lock is keeping that door shut.
