When his eyes gazed into yours for the first time, he swore that the entire universe had stopped the law of physics. Before he met you, he didn't seem to be interested at first. Believing that this arranged marriage is nothing more than for business purposes. Ushijima is a man of pride, a King that has conquered the business industry.
Or so he thought. So here he is, loss for words from the woman sitting across him; [Y/N]. He watches you with glassy eyes as you frown beneath this dreadful silence weighing on top of you. You begin to fiddle with the hem of your skirt, every now and then casting a glance towards the man.
You break the cold ice, "Am I not good enough?"
Ushijima's eyes widen by a fraction, "That's not it."
"I know you don't like me, but at least treat me like a proper wife."
"Like I said, that's not it."
"Then what is it?"
You watch him sigh, seemingly troubled with his words. He looks away from you as he nervously gulps, how should he reply to that? He can't exactly say that he's terrible on expressing his feelings to others around him. That would certainly tarnish his title.
He's rather a workaholic who clogs himself in his office instead of interacting and socialising with people. In other words, he's awkward when it comes to women. Especially, when they're quite the beauty.
"I'm sorry", he murmurs.
You soften your gaze, "And why is that?"
"I'm not good with this... type of situation."
You advert his eyes, "I guess that makes the two of us."
Ushijima pauses before asking you a question, "Are you free this week? I'd like to learn more about my wife."
"Are you asking me on a date?", you ask as you resist the urge from beaming a grin.
"Call it like that."
"Well then, I'd like to know more about my husband too."
