[EDITED]

After driving far enough from the group, Alice cheered, 'How could the bug appear?' It had been the first time she had been in a car, and she didn't understand anything about it. Luckily, Robin came from Storybrooke and knew how to make it move. 'You wished for it, it's magic!' Robin was surprised too as the bug had been in another realm. 'Wait, you wished for the troll too, right? And you got that too!' The excitement grew on her face.

With a silence between them, Alice looked out of the window. The night had fallen, and the world seemed peaceful. 'Why did you help me?' she asked.

'You know, back in Storybrooke, I was a mean girl. But I don't want to be like that anymore. And I never wanted to be in their group. All I did was pretend to be my father because I thought that was what it meant to live up to his legacy. I was wrong and needed to help the person who was in need.' A small smile appeared on Robin's face when she looked at Alice's features.

'Well, thank you.' Alice turned her head to Robin, not being able to hold back her smile either. But before either of them could do or say anything, they heard the troll getting closer. Near the tower where Alice had been locked up all those years.

'There's the troll!' Robin yelled as they ran to the tower. Quickly, they hid behind some bushes. 'You need to stop the troll.'

'How am I supposed to do that, just say: hey, Troll, stop?' Alice answered sarcastically.

'Yes. If there's one person who can stop the troll, it's you. You sent the troll here in the first place. I believe in you, Alice.'

Alice stood up and walked over to her old friend. 'Hi there, friend.' The troll saw her and put down the yellow bug he had just lifted as he wanted to throw it into the tower – or the ruin that was left of it. 'You came back for me,' Alice continued. Though the troll was extremely close to her, she wasn't afraid. 'You don't have to worry about me anymore. I'm finally free. Wow, that is such a big word, but I really am.' The troll didn't say anything back, of course, but he somehow understood what she was saying. He leaned down and Alice touched his nose. Only seconds later, the troll was gone. A tear dropped down her cheek, feeling like she had just lost a friend. But then she remembered how she had gained one today, too. Robin came from behind the bushes and put a hand on her shoulder. 'C'mon, let's go,' she said and together, they left that wretched place behind once and for all.

'Because today is your birthday, I got you this,' Robin showed Alice the little cake she was holding in her hands with one candle on it. 'Make a wish,' she said after lighting it. Alice smiled and closed her eyes. After making the wish, she blew out the candle.

'What did you wish for?'

'No, no, that's not how it works, you know that. But I have a good feeling about this one,' Alice laughed. 'Let's eat this on our way back.' And together, they stepped into the yellow bug again to drive home safely.
