Chapter 16

Tilly's POV:

Rogers and I had searched all day for more clues, but hadn't found anything. I went back to my 'home'. The next day I went back to the troll, hoping Rogers would find me. But he didn't. I waited for hours and hours, but he didn't show up. 

At the end of the afternoon I decided to find him. I walked to the Police station. ''Is Rogers here?'' I asked Weaver. He was busy with police work and didn't want me to interrupt him. ''He hasn't checked in today'' he answered without looking up. I turned around and walked away. Maybe he was at his apartment. I knew where he lived, because I had been there a couple of times before. It wasn't really far from the Police Station. 

''Detective?'' I yelled as I knocked on the door. Inside it was very quiet. I tried again. ''Detective?'' but nobody responded. I didn't know what to do and looked around. I took a hair pin from my hair and opened the door without hesitation. The door opened easily. I closed the door behind me and looked around. It was pretty dark. I turned on the lights and saw that the apartment was a mess. ''Detective?'' I yelled again. I opened a door, which apparently led to his bedroom. I turned on the lights and saw he was laying on it. He didn't look well. I ran over to him and tried to wake him up. He slowly woke up. ''Huh? What?'' he mumbled. He sat down and looked around. He noticed me. ''Tilly... what are you doing here?'' he asked confused. ''I have waited for you to find me so we can find Margot!'' I explained. ''Oh.''

''What have you done all day?''

''I.. um.. I can't explain, it was so weird.''

''We need to find her, Detective'' I said as I pulled his hand. He stood up and grabbed his jacket. ''You are right'' she said as we left the apartment. 

''Do you have any idea where we should start?'' I asked as we stepped into his car. ''I am going to talk to a former victim, who didn't die'' Rogers answered. ''Who?'' I asked curious. ''You'll see'' Rogers answered and drove away.

''Why are we going to Belfry Towers?'' I asked. I knew what kind of woman that was and I didn't want to get involved with her life. I already scared her at Halloween. I was kinda proud of that. ''Because her daughter was attacked a few days ago'' Rogers said and walked into the building. Even though I didn't want to go in, I did, because I wanted to know where Margot was. She was such a nice person and she really saw me for me. ''What can I help you with, detective?'' Belfrey asked. She was just on her way to her office. ''We are here for your daughter'' Rogers said. ''Why? She's.... well... her'' Belfrey sighed at the thought of her daughter. I could sense that she didn't really love her that much. ''We need to ask her some questions'' Rogers continued. ''What did she do this time?'' Belfrey asked. I felt awkward in the elevator. I had nothing to say and I knew she didn't like me. ''Nothing, we just need to ask her some questions'' Rogers said. ''And why is SHE here?'' Belfrey looked at me and disapproved me. ''She's helping me with the case'' Rogers said before I could open my mouth. ''Whatever'' Belfrey mumbled. The elevator opened and we walked out. Ivy sat at her desk, looking at her nails. She didn't look satisfied. ''Ivy, we are here to ask you some questions'' Rogers said. I saw Victoria walking in her office, she was sighing. I turned back to Ivy to listen to the conversation. ''What do you want?'' she asked bored. She was still looking at her nails. ''We need to ask you some questions about the candy killer'' Rogers explained. ''What happened to me, it was traumatic, I don't want to talk about it'' Ivy sighed. Eventually she looked up. ''Someone is missing.''

''If she got a box, she'll be dead by now.''

''She didn't. Her mother did'' Rogers said. For a moment I thought I saw a worried look on her face, but it disappeared very quickly. ''I am sorry, but how can I help?'' Ivy asked. ''We need to know more about him'' Rogers said. And then she told us everything she knew...
