Chapter 15

Tilly's POV:

It took us days to figure out where I had been the day the woman of the hospital was killed. But finally, after a long search, we found out that the troll had a security camera and I spent my whole day there. I am so relieved. I couldn't believe I was able to kill all those people. I am also glad that I have found a job at Sabine's foodtruck. I met a special girl there. ''Hi, Tilly'' Rogers greeted my with a big smile on his face. ''Why are you so happy?'' I asked suspicious. I jumped on the ground and leaned against the troll. ''It is a great day, and I am still happy I had found Eloise'' Rogers explained. ''But what about the mysterious murders?'' I asked. ''We'll find the killer, don't worry. Are you up for a game of chess?'' Rogers grabbed the chessboard out of his coat. ''You forgot it yesterday at the police station.'' 

''Thank you! I have been searching for hours yesterday'' I smiled bright. We played a game of chess and I won. ''What are we going to do today, Detective?'' I asked as soon as we stopped playing. ''I have a busy day, I have brought you lunch. Maybe you want to help me with a case'' Rogers sighed. ''Of course, what is it about... your case, I mean'' I said excited. ''It has something to do with the 'Candy-killer'. Someone is missing, I heard about it yesterday'' Rogers said. ''You call him the 'Candy-killer' now?'' 

''He sends his victems a heart-shaped box with chocolate before he attacks and kills them.''

''That sounds awful.''

''Yeah, it is. But we need to focus our attention on finding the girl that is missing.''

''Did she get a heart-shaped box with chocolate?'' I asked curious. ''No.''

''Then what are the odds that she is linked to this killer?''

''Because she got kidnapped the day her mother got a heart-shaped box with chocolate'' Rogers said. ''oh.... so what are we going to do?'' I asked as I grabbed my lunch. ''Get in, we need to speak to her mother'' Rogers said as he stepped into his car. I did as he said. 

''Wait? Why are we here? Who is her mother? Who is missing?'' I asked a little freaked out. ''We are visiting Kelly, she may something about her daughter. I thought her name was Margot, don't you know her?'' Rogers said as he opened his door and walked towards Roni's. I followed him closely. 

''Detective, can I help you?'' Roni asked as she cleaned the dishes. ''Yeah, is Kelly here?'' Rogers asked. I tried to smile to Roni, but I definitely failed. I was nervous and needed to hear the whole story. I didn't understand why someone would kidnap Margot. ''I'll get Kelly'' Roni said as she gave us a drink and walked away. Before she disappeared behind the door she said slightly sarcastic: ''You are old enough for a drink, right Tilly?'' Like it was the time for a joke. But finally I got out a little smile and nodded. Then she disappeared. ''You seem to know her pretty well?'' Rogers noticed. ''I come here sometimes, you know'' I sighed. ''I mean Margot'' Rogers said. ''Oh, umm, yeah, she's a good friend of mine.... wow, it's nice to say that, a friend'' I sighed as I dreamed of a life where people actually liked me. Rogers laughed for a second. 

By the time Roni came back with Kelly, we had finished our drinks. ''Here she is, the woman of the hour'' Roni said as she walked back to her position behind the bar. ''Have you any updates?'' Kelly asked concerned and curious. ''We are trying to find her, but we need your help. Please answer a few questions'' Rogers said. ''Of course'' Kelly answered and we walked to a table. 

''When did you last see your daughter?'' 

''She was at the bar the day after I got the box with chocolates. She said she was going to you, Tilly'' Kelly answered and sighed. I could hear that she missed her so much. ''She was going to me?'' I asked surprised, because Margot hadn't said she was stopping by. ''She said she was going to surprise you. She had something for you, what was it....'' Kelly said as she was thinking. She looked to the ceiling, like the answer was there. Finally she remembered: ''A bracelet! She wanted to give you a bracelet!'' she smiled for a moment. ''A bracelet?'' I asked curious. ''Yeah, I don't know what for though, she said it was a surprise and she'd tell about it later'' Kelly explained. ''Didn't you see her that day?'' Rogers asked me. I shook my head. I had no idea she was coming and I hadn't seen her in a few days. 

''Didn't you think anything was suspicious that day?'' Rogers turned back to Kelly. ''No, everything seemed normal. I was at the bar, covering a shift for Roni and nothing out of the ordinary happened that day'' Kelly sighed. She knew that these weren't the answers Rogers was looking for. ''You know, she was finally getting happy again. She had been so down about her girlfriend who had said 'no' when my Margot proposed to her. I felt so bad for her. But now she met you, she finally seemed happy again. I feel like this is all my fault'' Kelly sighed as tears filled her eyes. ''We will find her'' Rogers said as he stood up and walked to the door. I followed him, but at the door turned around and waved at Roni. She waved back at me. Then I walked through the door and followed Rogers. ''So what's next?'' I asked curious. ''I have absolutely no idea'' he sighed as we both stepped into his car.
