"I need to rest," Nikki muttered, laying down on the cold floor. Peter was catching his breath, leaning agaist the doors.

"I think I do too." he muttered, and lied down next to her. They were gasping and breathing heavily for a few minutes, then it all became silent.

"Wanna start looking for Mr. Stark?" Peter suggested, and faced Nikki, who's face was fortunatley also faced at Peter. Their faces were a mere centimeters apart.

"I'm sorry!" Peter exclaimed and faced backwards. Nikki groaned and sat up, facing him. Peter was still positioned backwards, covering his face.

"Dude," she nudged Peter, who shot right up. "Y-yeah? I'm sorry. Nothing's going on with me. Yeah-nothing." he said in one breath. He fumbled around, and stood up to face her.

"About finding dad.. Let's not yet. We'd probably be killed by him when he finds out we're still in the ship." she told Peter, who smiled at her.

"We still have time to kill before we get killed." she added and flashed him a bright smile, making Peter chuckle at how adorable she was acting.

"So.. What do you want to talk about?" she asked akwardly, and a lightbulb suddenly appeared on Peter's head.

He was going to confess.

One of the main resons why was that Nikki thought that he still liked Liz. He didn't. When Tony and Nikki suddenly appeared in his house to talk about him fighting, he felt a tiny little something for her.

When she almost died, Peter was heartbroken after he saw her crash to the ground. He remembered how he held a grudge at Sam for avoiding Clint's arrows.

Then when he rejected Tony's offer to be a full time avenger, he always remembered the anger on Nikki's eyes when Tony told her that she needed to go to school with Peter.

Peter used to be a little hurt when Nikki would avoid him everywhere. She hated him at that time, accusing him for being the reason she wasn't a full time avenger.

Somehow, they managed to become close friends, but his feelings got involved.

And here they are, lying down inside a ship on space, trying to forget the fact that they will be killed by Tony in minutes.

"Are you asleep?" he got startled by Nikki, who stared at Peter.

"My eyes are open, how would I fall asleep?" he raised an eyebrow, making the girl just shrug in defence.

"You tend to do that a lot." Nikki smiled, and stared at Peter for a while.

Peter, on the other hand, started panicking at her eyes. He felt as if they were staring deep into his soul.

He was a creep. Even him, admitted that he was a creep.

"Let's talk about life." he blurted out, immediately mentally smaking himself.

"Why should we? I'm already dead inside."

"Well, let's talk about those times when we went against Captain." he suggested, making the girl nod in agreement.

"I remember saving you for more than ten times," she said sarcastically, and laughed.

"You almost died that time," Peter muttered. This was it. He was going to do it.

"Oh yeah. I stil kind of hate Clint and Sam for almost getting my ass killed," she started.

"Yeah.. I kind of held a grudge on him before." Peter admitted sheepishly, and the girl laughed her ass off.

"Don't laugh." he stated, even though he was really happy to hear her happy.

"But, why did you held a grudge on them? I mean, I was the one who was in a coma for a week." she laughed.

"Look, I'm going to be straight forward. I liked you then." Peter feared to see her reaction, but nevertheless looked.

His eyes met with her soft brown ones.

"You liked me?"

"Yes—Nikki. I did." he took a deep breath.

"And I still do."

They were silent for a moment. The only thing being heard was the engine of the ship.

Finally, she spoke up. "Why did you just tell me now—when the world's possibly going to end?" she smiled sofly and stood up.

"Your an idiot, Parker. Now let's find dad."
