Calix
When I get out of the cell, I’m met by pair of luminescent blue eyes. “How did it go? It looked like you were about to get…rough for a minute. I thought I was gonna have to pull you out.”
“Did I really look that bad?”
“Well…”
“Crap…ugh. Well, it-it’s her fault! She’s such an airhead, Calix! I mean, she has the complete opposite ideas as I do. She’s just like…”
“She’s just like whom?”
“Nobody, I don’t know what I was thinking.” He smiles a Servie smile, bright, calming, and cool.
“It’s okay; you just had a hard day is all. Come on, let’s get you in bed. I’ll tell boss you’re not feeling well.”
“That’s impossible, Servies don’t get sick. She’ll never believe you.”
“I think she can spare a Servie for just a day. Besides, you need it.”
“Thanks…”
“Haha, I didn’t mean it like that, Azurite.”
“Oh…” I feel my face getting warmer, but it’s not like I can blush, so I have nothing to hide, “Haha, sorry…” He touches a cold, firm hand on my cheek.
“It’s fine. I just wanna make sure you’re okay for now.” We finally get back to my room. He sets me in my bed, makes sure I’m comfortable. I tell him he can leave, but he insists on staying until I’m asleep to make sure I don’t need anything.
“Calix, I’m completely, entirely, and especially sure I will not need ANYTHING, okay, so you can just go back to headquarters.” I give him a Servie smile to reassure him. He smiles back, but hiding his teeth. I don’t like when people do this, it makes them look like non-Servies. He tells me good night, reminds me I can send him a holo, (hologram message), anytime I need to.
Now my temper’s building up. Why can’t he just leave me alone?! I need to think, get stupid Madison out of my head, and try to figure out whether or not to visit her again. But at the same time, I didn’t want him to leave. He’s comforting. He’s like me, and seems like the only person who I can actually talk to without being judged. Madison immediately though I’m some psycho, unnatural beast. And who would even think what Michael would think of me? I don’t think he would even be able to look at me in the eye—I have to give Madison credit for that, at least.
“Hey, hey Azurite are you okay?”
“What. Oh…yeah. I’m fine. Perfect, we’re always perfect.”
“I don’t mean you as a Servie, I mean you as in Azurite. How are you?"
“Tired…”
“I’ll let you get to sleep.” I smile, and before walking out he places a light kiss on my lips.
