In the present
I literally don't understand how to put up with people. I get it, it's your fucking day, but no need to yell on me, because the purple isn't the violet you wanted.
Give me a break? I've been working for 8 long hours and all you do is command me around? Ugh, the day couldn't get any worse. People annoy the shit out of me!
Finally, reaching home, I turned on the lights and my eyes widened in pure horror. The house was a mess. A literal mess!
"Momma", my 5 year old son came rushing to me, with his teddy bear in his hand, he clung himself to my leg.
I looked at him and then at the mess. Taking a deep breath, I picked him up and kissed his cheeks softly. He snuggled into my neck.
"Ansh, come on, bud", I heard a voice and the very next moment, he was walking into the lounge room. Looking more stressed out than me!
"Babe, you're back?", he asked me innocently, knowing very well that I was going to be mad at him for the messy situation right in front of me.
Shivaay walked over to me and kissed my temple. Taking away my purse and jacket, he walked into our room and I sat down on the couch. Ansh slowly pulled away from me.
After a moment, he came back and I was relieved that at least Anshi was asleep. But that bubble blasted soon, when she came crawling to her father and placed herself in his lap. Shivaay smirked in my way.
"Explain, why the kids haven't showered yet?", I asked him gently, not wanting to scare my son.
"I was making dinner. You can't blame me", Shivaay gave me those puppy eyes and I literally wanted to strangle him.
"Daddy is right", Anshi defended him and I raised my eyebrow at Ansh.
Our kids were actually twins. But they had nothing in common. Well, that was a bit exaggerated. But, they were different. Ansh was my boy, while Anshi wouldn't survive a minute without her father.
After that night at the beach, we decided to start over. The next year passed by us catching up on each other. While, in the second one things had begun to get better and that's when he proposed to me. We got married and after another year, I was pregnant with our kids.
"Anshi is lying. Dad was playing her songs", my son glared at her and Shivaay looked at him in surprise.
"That's not true, momma", Anshi looked angrily at her brother. Technically, she was two minutes older than him.
"It's okay, I believe you", I whispered into his ear and he smiled at me.
After that he ran out of my lap and sat down in front of the Tv. Anshi looked at me offended and I just giggled at her jealousy, pulling her out of Shivaay's embrace, to kiss her cheeks multiple times.
"I love you both, okay?", I scrunched my nose and so did she. Shivaay had walked into the kitchen, in front of the stove.
I back hugged him and kissed his shoulder. He grabbed my hand and pulled me to him. He was making soup today, because it was cold.
"When's the next tour, Rockstar?", I asked him teasingly and he just rolled his eyes.
"And here I thought you were going to give me a kiss", he mumbled and looked away. I chuckled and cupped his face, pecking him on his lips.
He pulled me closer and was about to slip his tongue into my mouth, when I pulled away and looked at him with a huge, stupid grin.
"Let's continue this at night?", I asked him and his eyes started twinkling again. And just like this, I had given him energy to get dinner ready within an hour.
"What will you guys do at night?", both of my kids asked, standing at the threshold of the kitchen and my eyes widened in horror. But it obviously didn't matter to Shivaay.
"Disney movie?", I blurted out quickly and Shivaay looked at me, with the "are you kidding me?" look.
Well, I had to do something about it, right? And he wasn't even helping with the excuse. Ansh looked at his sister and his eyes turned a shade darker with mischief.
"Cinderella", he snapped at her, but Anshi scrunched her nose.
"Cars", she yelled back and I looked over to Shivaay, who was enjoying their argument way too much.
"Ladies first", he said and Ansh looked at me with those puppy eyes. I glared at Shivaay, but as soon as I turned my head, Anshi was looking at me with a sad face.
Oh, God!
"Let's do scissors, rock, paper", I suggested to them and her face lit up.
Long story short, Ansh won. She sat in front of the TV with a grumpy face and I had no idea how to deal with her bad mood. She was just like her father. Short tempered.
"She's so much like you", I told him, while setting the table. He walked to me and placed the dinner in the middle of the table.
"So, is he", Shivaay said and I just shook my head. I walked into the lounge room and found Ansh sitting in front of the Tv.
"Not so close, Ansh", I told him and grabbed Anshi's hand, walking over to the dinner table.
"Let's go, champ", Shivaay whispered into Ansh' ear and picked him up, walking over to the table and dropping him in the seat next to him.
At the end of the day, we tried to treat them equally, no matter which parent the preferred more. And even if Anshi was more attached to Shivaay, deep down I knew, she loved me just as much as him.
"Momma, how did you meet daddy?", she asked him and he looked over to me, while filling Ansh' plate.
"I met him when I went to complete my studies. Your father was my roommate and he took such good care of me. We were very good friends, but it all started when he asked me to be his girlfriend"
Shivaay was staring at me amused. I still felt those butterflies. Even after six years of being together, nothing had really changed between us. We still acted like we met yesterday and fell in love.
"and just like that, he became my boyfriend"
