Chapter 6

Once Lin and I got to his apartment building, he led me to the elevator. When we got into the elevator he pressed the number 4 "Lin, are you sure about this? I mean you've done so much for me! I can go home right no-" I was cut off my Lin saying "Abi, I know I've done a lot for you, but I'm going to do a lot more. And you can't go back to that hellhole for 2 reasons 1, it's a terrible home, they don't treat you right and reason 2, were in front of my door." I looked up and seen that we were, "well no going back now" I thought.

Once Lin and I stepped inside his home, Vanessa looked up from her computer. When Vanessa saw us she shut her computer and looked up at us, she looked at Lin and then me, she had a look of confusion on her face. After a few awkward minutes, Lin spoke up "Hey V, so I know I said I was bringing a friend over and I know you see that my friend is...well 13, but she has no where to go and she needs to stay here tonight." I swear, Lin said that in one breath. Vanessa just frowned at me and opened her arms for a hug. I looked over to Lin who just gave me a reassuring look, I looked back at Vanessa and made my way to give her a hug. We stayed in the hug for a little while, until she pulled away and said "Love, you can stay here as long as you need" I smiled and nodded my head "Thank you so much" I said tears in my eyes. Vanessa wiped the tears that escaped and gave me one last smile before Lin spoke up, again "well it's getting kinda late. Abi, how about I show you to the guest room we have." Lin started walking away and I followed.

When we reached the guest room, he opened the door and I walked in, it didn't have a lot in it, just a bed, a dresser, and a desk. But the thing I loved the most was that the window had a place by it so I could sit and enjoy the view. "I know it's not much, but I hope you like it." I turned to Lin, smiled, and then gave him a hug "Thank you so much Lin!" He hugged me back. A few minutes later he said that it was late and that I should get to bed. I obeyed and got into bed, before Lin shut the door he said "Goodnight love, everything will get better soon" I smiled at those words and fell asleep.
