Kendal

I have a slight head ache as I wake up for work but I shake it off as I begin to get ready. Today I don't curl my hair. I just straighten it and throw on my usual clothes.

I'm not sure what to expect from work today but I'm sure it's not gonna be anything monumental.

Racheal did convince me to talk to Ethan about getting the rest of my things from his house. If I'm not staying there then what's the point in my things being there?

I strut out of the apartment building and get a cab within minutes. I tell him my destination and sit back against the seat.

I'm not sure how I'm gonna bring this whole thing up to Ethan. I wonder what he'll say?

As we pull up to the massive skyscraper I try and calm myself down. I step out of the car and make my way up to the building like it's nothing. I got this. I'll just say something to him right before I leave. That way there won't be any weird confrontations.

I step into the elevator as I grip my purse. It's just another day at work. With a guy that I happen to be in love with. No big deal.

Florence smiles at me as I make my way to my desk. I know I have tons of work to do so I sit down and get started.

I almost expect Ethan to ask me for a coffee but he never does. He doesn't even come out of his office. In fact I don't see him all day.

"He's quite the hermit crab today so I think you'll have an easy day." Florence chuckles about half way through the day. "I guess so." I say as I glance over at his office. I wonder what's keeping him so busy in there.

At the end of the day I bring myself to actually leave my desk and make my way to his office. I knock on it lightly and he shouts a soft answer. I open the door slowly like I always do and he's sat at his desk with his head down as he writes.

"Hey." I murmur. His head immediately snaps up from his papers and his intimidating eyes meet mine. They make me feel so small.

"I was wondering if I could stop by later." I say in a questioning tone. He immediately stiffens at the statement. "You know. To pick up my things." I add.

His jaw clenched as he takes the information in and processes it. I know that this isn't what I want but it's what I need.

"I'll be home at 7." He murmurs as he glances at the clock. 5:45. "Thank you." I mutter softly.

I'm quick to leave his office. The air was just too dense for me.

I gather my purse and my phone and flash Florence a quick smile. "See you tomorrow." She waves as I make my way to the elevator.

I'm sure Racheal will let me borrow her car at 7. She never does anything after work anyway.

I send her a text on my way home and just as I expected she says yes.

I'm nervous to go to his house. I haven't been there since the incident. It'll remind me about it. I'll practically relive it.

I step into Racheals apartment and it's quiet. She must be asleep. I let out a sigh as I shuffle through the house. I may just be going to pick up my things but I want to look nice. I want to make an impression. I want to look good as I leave so maybe he misses me just as much as I miss him.

Once I'm satisfied I search for Racheals keys and head out. I told myself that I won't be there long and I won't crack. I'm just getting my things.

I remember the way to his house with ease. It's like it's embedded in my brain somehow. It's something I'll never ever forget.

I'll also never forget just how breathtaking his property is. I roll up to his gate and I'm in awe all over again.

My heart races as the gate glides open. My nerves begin to be too much as I take deep breaths. I keep reminding myself that I'll be okay. Chances are he'll be too busy to help me with my things. He'll have his hired help do it.

I park right in front of the lavish house and take another deep breath. "Here goes Nothing." I mutter to myself as I swing the car door open.

I grab my phone and lock the door as I stare at the house. It's even more intimidating than what it used to be due to what happened here.

I make my way up his large porch steps , legs shaking in anticipation. I can't bring myself to knock at first. It takes me a few seconds to collect myself.

I finally bring my knuckles against the large door and my heart races as I wait for him to answer the door. I really should've brought Racheal with me. This is too much. I'm starting to think I should leave and come back another time.

Thankfully when the door swings open it reveals his maid. Thank god. I wasn't ready to see him just yet.

"Hello." She beams. I know she recognizes me and this is probably strange for her. She probably has no idea why I left for so long.

"Hey. I just came to get my things." I mutter nervously. "Oh yes of course. Come in." She says stepping to the side.

I don't even know where to start when I step in. I know I have a great amount of things up in his room but that's probably where he is. I want to avoid him at all costs.

"Her And I can take it from here." I hear a familiar voice say from the hallway. I turn to the maid and practically beg her to stay with my eyes but she listens and scampers away.

Now I know it's just him and I.
