Ethan
I lock the car with my key fob because I don't want anything happening to Kendal and I walk into the hotel.
It smells clean. Almost like lemon. It's also very bright and it's already managed to give me a slight headache.
The lady at the desk looks absolutely tired. She might even hate her job. I walk up to her anyway.
"Do you have any rooms available?" I ask as kindly as possible. "Double or single." She mutters. "Single." I say quickly. Double wasn't even an option. I want Kendal close to me.
The lady focuses on her computer while I stand and wait. "Room 203." She mutters as she slides the keycards to me from across the desk. "Thanks." I mutter quickly as I rush away from the desk. I don't want to bother the lady anymore than I have to. She doesn't seem like she's up for any sort of conversation.
I make my way back to the car as I shove the keycards into my pocket. It's so dark tonight and it's almost calming as I walk to the car.
Kendal's still sound asleep when I get back. I make my way to her side of the car and gently open the door after I unlock it.
She doesn't budge as I reach over her and unbuckle her seatbelt. "Kendal." I murmur as I lightly nudge her.
Her eyes flutter open and I know she's confused. "We're at a hotel so we can get some sleep." I chuckle as I take in her tired state. She can't help but smile as I help her out of the car.
"How far are we?" She ask. "Few hours." I mutter. She nods as we walk into the hotel. "What about the bags?" She ask and stops dead in her tracks. "I'll come back and get them." I say quickly. I don't want her carrying anything. I can tell she is absolutely exhausted.
We make our way to the elevator and she makes an effort to grab my hand. I smile to myself as I take her hand. There's something about having her by my side that always lightens up my mood.
We step on to the elevator and we're completely quiet. The music is the only sound that floods the small cube.
It dings, letting us know we reached our floor and I step out to lead the way to our room. I'm somewhat anxious to see what the room looks like. I'm not sure why. We're leaving first thing in the morning anyway.
I find our room and Kendal stops next to me as I fish into my pocket for the keys. She watches me closely. She's probably anxious to actually lay in a bed.
I slip the card into the door and hear a faint click. I swing the door open and Kendal and I are quick to glance around the room.
"It's nice." Kendal murmurs. "It'll do." I mutter knowing that I've stayed in far better.
"You get settled in and I'll go and get the bags." I say quickly as I slip only one of the keys into my pocket as I toss the other onto the coffee table for Kendal. All she does is nod as she shrugs her jacket off and watches me make my way towards the door.
Kendal
Ethan closes the door behind him with a soft click as I let out a sigh. I scan the room and can't help but wish I was back home.
I run my hand through my hair as I plop down onto the bed. The bed bounces slightly and it almost makes me feel a little better about all of this because it's slightly comfortable.
I'm beyond exhausted but something tells me I won't be able to sleep. The idea of running keeps me on edge.
I could use a shower. A shower always seems to settle me.
I make my way towards the bathroom hesitantly. I flick the light on and I'm pleased. It's nicer than the one that was in my old apartment.
I shut the door behind me but don't bother locking it. It's just Ethan and I.
I lift my shirt up over my head and toss it on to the sink before I make my way to the tub. I turn the hot water on and undress while I wait for it to warm up.
It doesn't take long for a low fog to set over the room. I sigh as I go to step into the shower.
It almost instantly puts me at ease. All my muscles relax as I turn and allow the warm water to flow down my back.
I tilt my head back and allow the water to soak my hair. My eyes flutter close as I enjoy the situation.
I'm snapped out of my thoughts by the door opening and closing. It's like my muscles tense up all over again, deeming the relaxing shower useless.
"It's just me." The familiar, calming voice sounds through the room. I relax once again.
Within seconds he climbs into the shower with me which only causes a small smile to form on my lips. His hands find their way to my hips as he pecks my lips.
"I'm really sorry about all of this." He murmurs as he pulls away from my lips. "It's not your fault." I say barely above a whisper.
"It kind of is." He sighs. "If it wasn't for me you wouldn't be in this mess." He adds, showing me that he's absolutely frustrated.
I place my hand on his slightly wet cheek as I take in his golden eyes. His dark hair sticks to his forehead.
"It's okay." I murmur as his eyes burn holes into me. "It'll always be okay. We'll always figure it out." I mean it when I say it. I feel like we could figure out anything and move past it.
His lips connect with mine and it's long and full of passion. I don't dare pull away.
He swiftly lifts me up and a small laugh passes through my lips. He can't help but laugh with me as my back hits the shower wall.
This moment almost makes me forget about all the running.

This was very poorly revised so I'm sorry for any mistakes. This also may seem very boring but I promise it's just a filler. But what would you guys think about a Grayson book based off the song Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T's or a book based off Summer Time Sadness by Lana Del Rey?
I'm not sure if that's what I'm gonna do after this book or what. I just have a few ideas and I'm trying to figure it all out.
