When they had all made it back to the apartment, there was a tense air that surrounded the team. All eyes were on Keith, and he knew it. He never did like being the center of attention, in this life or the previous one. Leaning against the door awkwardly, he let out a long sigh and broke the long silence.

"Look, if nobody's gonna say it, I will. I know what nobody wants me here, so I'm just gonna leave and spare you my presence, or whatever. Bye," Keith said, addressing the room as no one else would. He turned to the door that nobody bothered to lock and left with a slam.

"Come on team, lets go!" Pidge shouted and grabbed her AR.

"Wait, where?" Lance croaked, still in shock from Keith's abrupt departure.

"After him, of coarse! We can't have more zombies roaming through our streets than there already are! Letting him go could mean suicide!" Pidge reasoned, and Hunk, Shirt, and Coran got up with her. Pidge had a way with words and it was almost scary how easily she could manipulate the people around her. "Don't you want to se him again?" she mumbled while grabbing an extra magazine off the kitchen table.

"Of coarse I do, but we can't-"

"Just come with us! What choice do you have?" Pidge shouted, clearly angry at Lance not responding to obvious reason.

'I really don't have a choice, do I...'  Lance sighed and followed Pidge out the door, the team with him.

Just as Lance had thought, the 'lone mullet' was alone and brooding in that house of his, staring idly at the guitar he had used what felt like years ago. Lance made his presence known by walking with purpose up the rotting stairs.

"L-lance? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with the rest of the group?" Keith stammered.

"I... I came to see you. The way you left," Lance looked down, able to keep Keith's eyes, "I had to see you again. It, it felt like you didn't really care." Lance sighed, and sat on the floor across from Keith.

"You shouldn't have come all this way. You know I don't do things without reason, Lance. You knew that if I was going to leave that how I wanted to go. Can't you understand that?" Keith stared.

"Loo, Im sorry you're mad at me but, I, I missed you, okay? It was only for a second you weren't there but," Lance sighed and lowered his head. Keith giggled.

"You know I can't stay mad at your for long. You're too cute!" Keith giggled again and Lance's face flushed with red.

"Well, if you're not mad at me, then how about coming back to the group, eh? No harm in that right?" Lance exclaimed and jumped up from the dusty floor.

"Lance, I'm not mad at you, but I left for a reason and I can't go back!" Keith got up to look Lance in the eyes.

"If that reason if so important, then why can't you tell me?" Lance shouted and grabbed Keith by his collar and slammed him against the wall. The impact knocked over the guitar and it went spinning on the floor.

Keith averted his gaze and stared at anything but Lance, the broken TV, the shattered window, the stairs, the purple guitar pick left on the floor since that one night.

"Stop being such a coward and look at me! If you really cared you'd tell me!" Lance screamed.

"It's because I care that I can't tell you!" Keith cried out, and Lance hesitated and his grip loosened in Keith's collar. He had looked at him. "Lance, I'm going to die in two weeks. I did the math, and judging by how long I've been alive, I've only got so long until... until..." Keith trailed off and he suddenly couldn't bare the thought of looking at the man in front of him.

Lance dropped Keith's collar and grabbed his own hair instead, backing away from the zombie before him. He tripped on the guitar and fell backwards, quietly laughing while tears threatened to fall from his eyes, the color of sunshine and clear skies on a summer day in June. But the clouds roll in and the rain falls no matter how hard the cuban tries.

"Lance, oh Lance baby please don't cry sweetheart baby please, please," Keith comforted and wrapped his arms around Lance. "Lance, come on we'll be fine, okay? We'll find a way, okay baby? We'll find a way. I-" Keith choked up,"I don't want you to cry over me again, okay Lance? NO more tears. For me."

They spent the night like that, Keith whispering sweet nothings into Lance's ears as he sobbed and cried over his crying love. Later that night Keith heard the rest of the team come inside the house and sleep downstairs on the couch and floor. If there was one thing Keith knew for sure from then on, he would do anything to make sure that Lance never cried over him again.

And if he ever did, Keith would have to make sure they were happy tears.
