Chapter 6
Harry had been pacing the floor of the hospital waiting room, waiting for Liam to burst through the hospital doors. He wanted to do nothing but cry, the image of Emily’s slashed wrists reminding him of her. But he couldn’t produce any tears, no matter how hard he pulled at his hair.
“Harry, what happened?” Liam asks from behind him. The taller boy turns to his best friend, the tears finally forming behind his eyes just by the hurt and scared expression on Liam's face.
“Sh-she cut herself… I-I tried to help h-her b-but she w-wouldn’t let me!” at this point Harry was full on crying, tears streaming down his face uncontrollably.
“Is she going to be ok?” Liam asks, after hugging his friend for comfort, knowing how hard this must be for Harry. It was like last time, how Harry had found her bleeding, and he realised that his friend wanted to do nothing but shrink away.

They didn’t hear anything for two hours. That was two hours of waiting in the uncomfortable chairs in the waiting room, two hours of silence, two hours of thinking of the worst case scenario.
“Family of Emily?” an authorative voice asks. Harry and Liam whip their heads up to stare at the doctor simultaneously.
“She doesn’t have any family…” Liam begins, sighing deeply.
“Friends then?” the doctor asks and Liam nods his head in answer.
“She suffered from a large amount blood loss,” the doctor begins, pausing for no apparent reason.
“Is she ok? Will she live?” Harry’s questions were frequent, making the old man a little overwhelmed.
“She will be fine, however we have to keep her overnight for observation and will also need to see a psychiatrist once a week.” Liam nodded his head.
“Can we go into see her now?” he asks, wanting to meet her beautiful eyes once again. The doctor nodded his head, leading the two gentlemen to the young girl’s room.
Her eyes were open, looking out the window, not moving her gaze even as they entered, as if she didn’t hear them.
“Emily,” Liam whispers, making her head jolt to him, their eyes meeting for a second before she closes them, the guilt too much for her. Liam looked down to her arms that were now wrapped up in white bandages.
“Emily,” he says again, walking to the side of her bed. She didn’t open her eyes, but she spoke, her voice small and broken.
“Please leave,” the words broke Liam. He didn’t understand what he had done wrong, but whatever it was, he sure as hell wasn’t leaving.
“Em-,”
“No, I-I don’t w-want you here. Please go.” She refused to open her eyes, to witness the hurt that was no doubt his expression. She had to make him leave now before it was too late, she was too broken and no one could fix her, so why should she bring others down with her?
Instead of walking straight out the door, Liam sits on one of the chairs to the side of the room, Harry still standing in the door frame, his eyes unable to move from her bandaged arms. This was all too much for him, too many memories that he really wanted to forget.
“Harry, what are you doing here?” she asks, smiling at her best friend. “I thought you were going on a date with Olivia?”
“Well, I’d rather spend time with you.” Harry answers, poking her nose and making her giggle.
“Well, you can stay, but only on one condition…”
“And that is?”
“If you cook me food.” The demand made Harry laugh, loving the fact that she loved food, especially the food he made.
“Fine.” He says and she lets him in the house.
“My parents aren’t home,” she says, plopping down on the couch and Harry sat next to her, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. The moment, to him at least, was perfect.
“So Harry babe, what are we going to watch?” Harry’s heart sped up when she had called him babe, but he tried to ignore it and answer her question, knowing she meant nothing by it.
“What’s on?” he asks.
“Nothing.” she answers. “Unless you wanted to watch Toddlers and Tiara’s with me?” she asks sarcastically.
“How about we do another duet? We haven’t done one in a while?” Harry’s suggestion made her smile; it had been a couple of months since they last sang together, and she missed the way his voice would magically harmonize with her, creating the perfect sound.
She jumped off the couch, grabbing her guitar from her room before walking back to Harry.
“What song?” she asks, too excited to contain herself; making Harry chuckle.
“Give me Love?” Harry suggests and She nods her head, pushing her hair behind her ear so she could see the guitar better.
“Give me Love, like her.” Harry started; his voice in the perfect pitch and her smile only grew wider, a sight Harry would never tire of seeing.
“’Cause lately I’ve been waking up alone,” She joins in, her voice an octave higher. They sounded perfect together, as if it were a match made in heaven, Harry had always thought.
“Harry mate, are you ok?” Harry was pulled out of his daydream by sound of Liam’s voice, turning to the older boy with wide eyes.
“Yeah,” he tries.
“You’re smiling.” Liam points out and Harry didn’t even notice. The smile disappeared as soon as he looked back to the now sleeping Emily.
Liam’s expression also turns grim as he looks at the young girl.
“We need to take extra care of her.” Liam decides, to which Harry easily agrees.
“Liam, why does she cut?” Harry had been wondering the question as soon as Liam had informed him but he didn’t have enough courage to ask until now.
Liam sighed, taking a seat on one of the chairs and Harry sits next to him, waiting for him to start.
“Her mother died when she was born,” Liam started and Harry said nothing, looking down at the blue plastic floor. “Her father worked in the marines, so she had to live with her aunty, who hated her. Her aunty would verbally bash her, saying things like she should have died instead of her mother and that her father didn’t even want her, that he hated her and that’s when she… well…” Liam trailed off and Harry just nods his head, wondering how someone could take so much, and it's clear that she had obviously had enough.
Sorry it's not exactly the best for you guy(s) but I will fix it up later possibly... Have you head Ed Sheeran's new album yet? PURE PERFECTION...
And then 5SOS had to publish their's and I am in a state of happiness listening to both of their album's on repeat ♫♥☺♫♥☺♫♥☺
