September 9th, 2004,
I watched Yugi run down the road, tossing his phone around frantically in his hands. What was that text about? What ''gates?'' Why wasn't I invited?
I decided to take it upon myself to investigate. I quickly dialed Miho as I ran after Yugi, staying far behind as to not get caught.
''Hey, Miho? Change of plans. Meet me at the school before 5. It's serious.''
I hung up the phone and continued pursuing the small teen. He ran through shortcuts and allies, all of which gave me chills until we reached the school gates.
4:56. Four minutes to spare.
I waited around the corner of a neighboring building as Yugi opened the gate. Miho still hadn't made it, but I had no choice - I had to go in alone.
Following close behind Yugi, I shut the gate and made my way into the school. All the while, I still couldn't wrap my mind around the situation. Yugi was an innocent kid, so why would he be doing this, and for Yami of all people?
He paused halfway down the hall, quickly dialing a number on his phone.
''Where are you?'' He whispered frantically. I could hear faint murmurs through the device, but nothing specific. I watched as the teen nodded and hung up the call before making his was up the stairs hurriedly. I followed shortly after him.
Yugi ran through the halls until he reached an unlabeled door that I recognized immediately. It was the closet stocked full of cleaning supplies, typically used at the end of the day. But why was he here, of all places? Certainly not to clean..
The boy pulled a bobby pin out from his pocket, bending it before he began to pick the lock. A slight click sounded before he turned the doorknob and let the door open slightly.
''Yami?-'' He began to ask before the door swung open, interrupting him. He was knocked back, engulfed in a hug by the one and only Yami Sennen. I swooned, almost blowing my cover - even in desperation, he was undeniably attractive. Why did Yugi deserve his attention?
I shook the thoughts from my head and quickly pulled out my phone, noticing a message from Miho.
I can't get in. Hope you're alright in there! <3
I smiled and nodded as I opened the camera, pointing it to focus on the scene before me. I suppose If I had to suffer from this moment, then someone else should too.
''Yugi, I'm sorry..''
''I-it's ok,'' He stammered, looking off in shock. I snapped as many photos as I could, holding my phone impossibly still to do so.
''I never should've left, I-I don't know w-what I was thinking.. I was a child at the time and-''
Yugi pulled away from the hug and placed a finger over Yami's mouth. I put my phone down, watching in jealousy at the moment I should be sharing with Yami.
''It's ok, Yami. I forgive you.''
I moaned in disgust at the sight. I turned around, looking at my phone again as I tuned out their words behind me. With a little bit of editing, I could get my revenge.
