Chapter 13: The Dragon Realm

I woke up to the smell of bacon, and something burning. Oh no. I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs. The floor was burnt and flooded too.

"What the heck happened?" I asked. Nari jumped and turned into a pile of ashes. "Oh my goodness, what the heck!" I screamed and jumped away. Then the pile of ashes burst aflame and turned back into Nari.

"You scared me!" She yelled.

"I scared you? You just turned into a freaking pile of ashes and then burst aflame!"I yelled. "What happened to the floor?"

"I sneezed and a fire started." Nari mumbled.

"Why is it wet then?"

"Jack put water on it to put it out."

"Where is Jack?" I asked.

"Right here," Jack said, coming out of the hallway, "had to go get a mop." Mycket came out of the hallway, he was in human form again. It was so weird seeing him that way.

"Hey Jack, when can we get breakfast, Nari and I are going to the pet store to see a cat," Mycket leaned towards Jack and whispered, "She's never seen one before, can you believe it?" Nari was blushing.

"It's almost ready, be back by eight, Lindy can only stay a day and a half in the dragon realm, and she'd barely get back to her house in time."

"What time is it now?" I asked.

"Seven-ish. Can you make eggs please, I got them out, and I got a pan, but I had other things to focus on."

"Sure." I started making the eggs. Litranara, Kayda, and Sefrian came downstairs. "Hi guys." I said.

"OOOOOH, what are you cooking?" Litranara ran up to me and Jack. She seemed to like food a lot, especially human food.

After breakfast was made we sat down and ate.

"You ready to go Nari?" Mycket said. Nari nodded.

"Are you leaving without me?" Litranara said with a fake pout. Apparently, she might be slightly flirtatious too.

"Maybe we could go somewhere sometime Litranara." He replied. Nari and Mycket left.

"Alright guys, let's prepare to leave!" Jack exclaimed. We all went upstairs and packed a little. I didn't have anything with me, so I packed food.

We were all standing in front of the portal. Nari and Mycket got back just in time.

"Jack, my power isn't strong enough to open the portal." Sefrian said.

"I know, I can open it too. How do you think I got back for holidays?" Jack replied. He looked at the portal, and furrowed his brow. He started to open the portal. "Mycket and Lindy first, then you guys, I'll come right after." Mycket grabbed my arm and stepped forward.

"You first." I jumped right in, he followed. "ISN'T THIS FUN!" He yelled, "I HAVEN'T DONE IT IN YEARS!" He seemed so happy. I heard other yells behind us. Nari, Litranara, Sefrian and Kayda followed us in. Suddenly Jack's figure appeared.

"Wooooo hooooo!" Jack yelled. The suddenly I couldn't see him anymore. I was on the other side. I landed on my butt, and it hurt. I looked at my hands, there were purple scales all over them. Then Mycket and the others came through one at a time.

"JACK! I'M COVERED IN SCALES!" I yelled, I was freaking out.

"Lindy, calm down, we all are, well most of us anyway." I looked around, Jack was covered in dark blue scales. Kayda had gold scales, so did Mycket, and Litranara had turquoise scales. Nari had feathery hair and wings, she seemed really happy to have them back. Sefrian had a horn coming out of her forehead, wings and a tail. Was she an alicorn? I never knew that.

"Lindy, stop staring at us and look around." Jack said, coming up to me. I looked. It was beautiful. There were waterfalls and a rainbow across the water. Dragons and other birds were in the sky, flying. There were unicorns running on through the field and these little puffball things squeaking to each other.

"What are those puffball things?"

"They're called furry-wisps. They will kill you if you call them cute." He said so casually.

"Oh."

"I need Mycket and Lindy to come with me! You other guys can go home or something!" It looked like he had made Mycket jump back to reality. He walked towards us saying one last thing to Nari.

"Let's fly guys." Jack said.

"I don't know how." I said.

"You'll just have to, wing it." Mycket said. Jack laughed, I just rolled my eyes.

"Seriously, I need help. I don't even have wings." I said.

"Look behind you Lindy, Mycket and I have ours." I looked behind me, I had purple dragon wings. "What the heck! When did those get here?" I asked.

"All you have to do is drop, then flap okay, faster flaps, you go up, slower flaps, you go down, okay." Then he went off of the cliff, so did Mycket. I saw them come up a little later. "Come on Lindy!" Jack yelled. I was so nervous. I went to the edge of the cliff. I looked down. It was gonna hurt when I fell instead of flew. No, if I fell, I had to think positive.

"Here goes." Then I jumped. I was falling- fast- I tried to scream, but I couldn't get the air out. I remembered to flap my wings. I went up. I was, flying! I was so happy, I caught up to Jack and Mycket.

"You're a natural Lindy." Jack smiled. "Follow me guys." We flew away from the portals.
