"Ouch."

"Sorry. It's gonna sting for a while."

Amelie gently presses a wet towel to the glowing wound, a combination of blood and liquid sun rays oozing out, making a sudden pang in her heart as she stared at it.

The process had been taking longer that she expected, for the wound is bigger than the small ones she'd treat every so often from "farting around" (as Liberty would say). The antidote was taking it's time to seep into the wound and help remove all the dangers that the pure light that hit his side could cause but Spiderman had reassured her that he had accelerated healing, so it wouldn't be long until she didn't have to tend to him anymore.

Now she gently cleans it, every so often dipping the towel in the antidote to help speed up the healing process, ignoring the fact that his suit hangs loosely bellow his waist and puddles onto his lap.

Amelie takes a deep breath before speaking, "So Spiderboy, how did you manage to become a human spider?"

He chuckles softly, "Spiderman."

"It's the same thing."

"Not really."

She looks up at him with a teasing smile, "You haven't answer my question."

"I'll tell my superhero story if you tell me yours." Amelie can practically hear the smirk in his voice, making her shake her head.

"I'm no superhero." She mumbles softly.

"Hey. You just saved my life." Spiderman tells her, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder, "If that's not superhero-y then I don't know what is."

She giggles softly, "'Superhero-y'?"

"Yeah. Superhero-y. You're a superhero now."

Amelie feels her cheeks warm and her heart swell at the thought of her being a superhero but she dismisses the feeling and just nods, showing Spiderman that she had heard what he said.

Noticing her sudden silence, he playfully nudges her, "So? Come on superhero. Tell me your amazing origin story."

Amelie lets another giggle escape her at his words but when she starts to process them, her laughter dies down. She couldn't tell an absolute stranger her life story, even if he was the famous webslinger of Queens. For all she knew, he could be working for the government and take her away from Genevieve if he knew everything.

She clears her throat, nervously toying with the towel in her hand, "U-Uh, look! I think your wound is healed."

"Really?" Spiderman's curiosity on her powers die down immediately as he peers down at his wound, which now looks like a scratch, "Woah! Not even my fast healing can do that! That's amazing! Are you a chemist or something?"

She shrugs, "Something like that."

"Well whatever you did, it's awesome." Amelie could practically see the smile he hid beneath his mask and she smiles in return, wondering why he thought the way he did about everything that had just happened.

Suddenly, he bolts up, causing the brunette to snap out of her thoughts and stumble back in shock.

"Now, as much as I'd like to stay and chat about you and your future as a superhero, I gotta swing on back home." He states, quickly slipping the suit back on and heading for the window. But he stops arruptly, turning to stare at the girl who was kind enough to help him with the mistake she had made through the open window. (Which was still awesome in his opinion.)

He smiles, even though she probably can't see it, "Thank you by the way. You're pretty awesome."

Amelie blushes at the sudden compliment. She wasn't so used to receiving them and when she did, it tended to catch her off guard.

"I-It was no trouble at all Spiderman." She says shyly, as if his compliment suddenly affected her, "Just trying to help."

"How very superhero-y of you."

Amelie jokingly rolls her eyes, "Whatever just get going you bug."

"Bug?" He asks in a jokingly offended tone, makes her hide a giggle beneath her hand, "I'll have you know that spiders are actually-"

She cuts him off by shutting and locking her window. She glances up to meet the whites of his mask and she notices that they're squinting at her, making her tilt her head.

"This isn't over."

She smiles, "I'd like to think so. Bye Spiderboy."

The superhero slumps as he grudgingly walks towards the edge of the fire escape, his body language showing that he was sad to leave his new found friend and for their conversation to be cut off so arruptly. But it just makes Amelie laugh quietly as she watches him swing away into the dimly lit city of Queens.

Once he's gone, she dramatically flops onto her bed. In her opinion, the night couldn't have gone more terrible! She had almost exposed her powers again. This time to one who shares the same fate as her. But she hid her tracks pretty well, it didn't seem like he suspected a thing.

But if he was as smart as the news portrayed him as, he would figure it out soon. And then it would be bye-bye Queens and hello Cleveland.

(Genevieve always plans their next getaway before hand. Just in case.)

All Amelie can hope for is that Spiderboy won't figure her out and that she can get a good night's sleep that isn't filled with the day's anxieties and stresses.

But Amelie knows the second part won't be accomplished tonight.
