Jeonghan sat up once he heard the birds chirping from the open doors of the balcony. He blinked hard and sighed, looking at the man beside him. He put on his clothing before running his fingers down Seungcheol's bare back, causing the older man to groan. "Choi, wake up. It's almost time for breakfast."
Seungcheol pushes himself up, but falls back down. "Ugh." He turns to face Jeonghan, only to see the younger man's back. Seungcheol lightly grazes his fingers on the prince's lower back, only for Jeonghan to slap his hand away harshly. "Don't touch me." He says firmly, glancing at Seungcheol with a cold expression.
Jeonghan gets up and leaves the room, leaving Seungcheol there on his bed, who was not even looking surprised. He looked at the hand Jeonghan had slapped away with a sad smile, sitting up and running his hand through his hair. He wasn't even shocked anymore.
When he was first assigned to Jeonghan, he was pretty excited. Everyone talked about how beautiful the prince was and to be able to see it everyday, up close, it was amazing.
At first he admired the prince for only pure reasons.
Seungcheol admired how strong and level-headed the prince stayed even with all that was happening with his parents. That was then. Seungcheol had to realize the hard way the reason why the prince was able to be so strong.
Seungcheol was called away by accident, and when he got back to the prince's room, a disheveled maid had exited. She looked at Seungcheol with a dazed expression for a bit before realizing who he was, and running away quickly.
Jeonghan wasn't able to call anyone to relieve his stress since then because Seungcheol started keeping watch on him from inside the room, which made Jeonghan irritated for a few days. He found a solution for the irritation, though.
He tempted Seungcheol.
That's the word Seungcheol uses to describe it so he doesn't feel as guilty for indulging happily.
Even with how taboo it was.. He slept with the younger man, and always, Jeonghan treated him coldly afterwards. As if he's forgotten the way he said Seungcheol's name so happily. As if he'd forgotten all the sweet words and touches he used when they'd–
He sighed loudly.
Whatever. He was already used to it.
He had to quickly get dressed and go to Jeonghan's side, even if he was acting that way. This was just his job.

"Took you long enough." Jeonghan says quietly as Seungcheol enters the dining area. Seungcheol doesn't say anything, taking his position of just standing behind Jeonghan with his hand ready on the hilt of his sword. The king and queen weren't there, which wasn't a surprise. They all ate at different times, Jeonghan's being the earliest so he wouldn't have to eat with the king. The queen ate at odd times of the day, so no one would really know for sure.
Mingyu comes in with a few servants who are holding the food in trays. "Mingyu," Jeonghan says with a bright smile, said man looking up at him with his head tilted. "Thank you for the food." With the way Mingyu got flustered, it was obvious something happened with them before.
With the way Mingyu got flustered, it made Seungcheol curious about what they used to have together. He must have not obviously been the first man the prince had been with.
Little Chan came into the dining area with a bright smile, "Jeonghan! I made you a crown. I know you already have one in your room, but I wanted to make you one out of flowers. Is it pretty?" Chan says cheerily, showing the crown to the prince. Jeonghan smiled once more, a softer one as he looked at the crown. "It's amazing, Chan. I love it."
Chan tiptoed as Jeonghan bended over slightly, placing the crown on the prince's head. "Now you look extra pretty today!" Chan cheers and Jeonghan pats his head, then turns to Seungcheol with the same bright smile he had showed to Jeonghan. "You think so too, right?"
Seungcheol had looked at the scene with a little longing before snapping out of it when Chan had faced him. Jeonghan didn't even bother looking back to see what Seungcheol would answer. "Yes, you're right. He looks real good." Chan faced Jeonghan once more to chat with him for a bit.
Seungcheol sighed at the prince's coldness.
Later that night, Jeonghan made up for that coldness with a lot of warmth.
Lets just say that Jeonghan, to Seungcheol, looked "real good" without that flower crown and his clothes.
