Mantis is so cute and doesn't get enough credit for it

The discovery of Peter's dad led to most of the Guardians onto Ego's ship. You and Gamora were taking a good look at the place when you stumbled upon Drax, Mantis, and Peter having a conversation.

"Yes, Quill and I have a bet." Drax said. Peter sighed out loud and hung his head, "you're not supposed to say that." "I say that if you're about to go through a doorway that's too low, your antenna will feel this and keep your from being decapitated." Drax explain. Peter had snuck a glance at you during Drax's explanation. You caught his look but turned away with your cheeks burning a slight pink color.

"Right. And if it's anything other than for that specific reason, I win." Peter said. "They are not for feeling doorways." Mantis dismissed. Drax sighed loudly in defeat with Quill laughing in triumph. "I think they have something to do with my empathic abilities." Mantis said. "What are those?" Gamora asked.

"If I touch someone, I can feel their feelings." "You read minds?" Peter questioned. "Telepaths know thoughts but empaths know feelings." You spoke up with your vast knowledge. "She's right." Mantis said to you. "May I?" Mantis asked Peter. "All right." Peter offered up his hand to her.

Mantis touched his hand and her antenna glowed. "You feel love." She spoke. "Yeah, well I guess I do feel a general, unselfish love for just about everyone-" Peter tried to shut down Mantis's findings but she cut him off.

"No. Romantic, sexual love." "No, no I don't." "For her!" Mantis exclaimed pointing to you. Your eyes widened at the sudden secret that was just exposed.

Drax has bursted our in giant laughter, "she just told everyone your deepest darkest secret." "Dude, come on man!" "You must be so embarrassed!" Drax yelled louder with laughter. You stood there trying to get a good look at Peter but he completely avoided looking at you. Your cheeks began to grow hotter as your mind reminded its self over the constant times you and Peter have became so much closer over the time. All the times where you both have had moments together and the times where you almost kissed.

Peter finally glanced up at you and you nodded your head to signal him to follow you. He reluctantly got up from his spot and followed behind you.

You stoped and turned to look at Peter, who was looking everywhere else by you. "That was a bit much from Drax." You let out.

"Yeah, most of the time he just doesn't know when to shut up. Look Y/N about that whole thing back there, I don't want to make it weird between us or anything like that. I care too much about us to let something so stupid ruin it." Peter admitted.

"It's not stupid Peter." You spoke softly. "Is it true?" You added the question. "Yes." He whispered looking up to your eyes.

"Good, it's going to make this a lot less awkward." You said before stepping closer towards him. He looked at you confused but relaxed when he felt his lips mold into yours. Your arms rested around his shoulders while his, around your waist, pulling you closer to his body.

Now he was kinda glad that Mantis did exposed him.
