Nala's first day in her new campus ended wonderful. Who would have thought that she'll get a job and a place to stay as a bonus? She was very happy indeed.
The next day ...
"Nala? You're up early," Aunt Josie said.
"Yes Aunt Josie. Today's my first day working with you. I'm so excited. I already swept the floors, dusted the bookshelves and wiped the tables and the windows. What should I do next?" Nala was really up for the job.
"What an energetic child! I'm so fortunate that you decided to work for me. Well, we should start brewing some coffee. This shop might not be popular, but we do have some loyal customers," Aunt Josie answered.
"Umm ... I don't really know how to brew coffee, Aunt Josie," Nala bashfully admitted.
"That's fine, dear. Come here and I'll teach you."
As Nala and Aunt Josie started brewing some coffee, someone came in and said, "Good morning, Aunt Josie. How are you today?"
"Oh, Izumi-kun, welcome. I'm good, dear. How about you?" Aunt Josie said.
"I'm doing great. I got this a book from the thrift bookshop. I'm so excited to read it," Izumi exclaimed.
"So that is why you are so early today. Oh! Yeah. I want you to meet my new employee. Come here Nala," she called for Nala.
"Umm. Good morning. I'm Nala. It's nice to meet you," Nala greeted Izumi.
"Ummm. Go-Good morning. I ... I am Izumi. It is ... umm ... nice to meet you too," Izumi bashfully answered.
"You're both too cute. It's so nice to see young people talking," Aunt Josie teased them. "You continue getting to know each other. I'll make you a cup of tea."
"Wait ... Aunt ... She's gone," Izumi said. "So ... Umm, do you ... like to read books?" He asked Nala.
"Yes! I love reading books! My favorite book series is written by James Patterson," Nala replied.
"Is it the Alex Cross series?" Izumi asked.
"Wow! How did you know?" Nala exclaimed.
"Well, I ... I love that series too," Izumi bashfully said.
"Nala, dearie, can you serve this to Izumi?" Aunt Josie called.
"Yes, Aunt Josie, I'm coming," Nala replied. "Umm ... Izumi ... I'll go back to work."
"Wait, you work here? I thought ..." Izumi was cut off by Nala.
"Yes. I work and live here, just since yesterday. I gotta go get your tea." Nala excused herself. Izumi just nodded back.
