Johnny POV
We all sat around the dinner table, awkward silence filling the air.
"So, you're with my son?" My father asks. He was actually curious.
"Um, no." Kenzie says her cheeks burning.
"Then why were you two, you know, hugging or whatever you were doing?"
I cough and Kenzie looks at me. Her eyes were wide. I nod at her and her lips tugged into a smile. I turn my attention back to my father.
"We were just...comforting the other. Kenzie just broke up with her, erm, boyfriend." I say to my father, his eyes searching my face.
"And its Mackenzie right?" My father turns to Kenzie and she nods. My father clears his throat "well, it was nice meeting you Mackenzie, I hope to see you some other time."
He stands up and leaves the room. Doesn't even take the plate.
I frown but when I look at Kenzie relief is written all over her face. I smile.
"Wow, you were really nervous." She glares at me.
"Wait until you meet my parents, they will question you until your ears bleed. That's what they did to Brandon..."
"Kenz, I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"For the video, for bringing you here, for everything." I sigh but Kenzie smiles.
"Nothing is your fault, if it's anyone's, we all need to blame Brandon."
With a laugh, Kenzie looked at me and said "You know what we should do?"
"What?"
"Lets go to Brynn's place. She can invite Hayden and some other people. We can just have a small little party. Try to forget our messed up lives."I smile and nod.
"Lets go"
Mackenzie POV
Brynn's house is like the White House except bigger. The only thing that's different is the fact that her house is baby blue.
I will never get over her neatly trimmed garden or fountain that sat in the middle.
At night, if you look up, the stars are amazing.
No feeling can trump that one."Kenz? You okay?" I turn to see Johnny. A worried expression is etched across his face.
"Yeah, I just love this place." I say and take in the exterior of Brynn's house once more. We stand at the door getting ready to knock. When we did the door flew open and a happy looking Brynn lunged at me. She was crushing me in a giant hug.
"Uh, Brynn." I say breathless.
"Oh, sorry Kenz! I haven't seen you in forever!"
I laugh and hug her back. When we let go of each other, Brynn leads us into the interior of her house and, it was even more amazing.
Everything was white, except for the walls which were also baby blue.
Brynn led us downstairs where Hayden was already hanging out.
"Is anyone else coming?"
"I only invited You, Johnny, Hayden, Carson, and Annie. All said they could come." I nod and take a seat next to Brynn and Johnny sat next to me. So close that our shoulders would brush which left sparks of mystery bursting wherever he touched.
Knock,knock,knock,knock,knock,knock,knock,kno-
"They are so annoying." Humphed Brynn and stood up go to the door. I followed her.
When she opened it Carson and Annie came in. Both were already drunk.
"Wwwwwoooooooohhhhhhh." Screamed Carson. His shirt was off and he stunk. Annie giggled and also screamed"Ppppppaaaaaaarrrrrrrtttttttyyyyyy tttttiiiiiimmmmmeeeeee!"
