Kenzie POV

After taking a shower, I felt fresh and clean. Johnny let me borrow a pair of his clothes. They were exceptionally big on me but I made it work.

When I came downstairs, I could smell the delicious food that Johnny was cooking.

"So, what's for dinner?" I asked, my arms resting on the countertop.

"I thought about cooking but..." he turned around and showed me a bag with the sign Burger King "I thought it would be more fun if I didn't burn the house down."

I smiled and Johnny led us upstairs. I was confused so I said, "Where are we going."

"Just follow me."

So I did. We were in his room when he opened his window and climbed out. Onto the roof. He held out his hand for me and I took it.

When I saw the view, I was amazed. You could see everything from being so high and not to mention that the sun was setting. Beautiful rays of orange, yellow, pink, and blue were painted across the sky.

"I used to come here when I needed to think of just to see something beautiful." He look at me when he was talking and continued, "I've never brought anyone up here."

"It's beautiful"

"Yeah... It is." He was still looking at me when he said it but I brushed it off.

Johnny Laid out a blanket and took out our burgers. He handed me my favorite burger.

"Chicken burger! How did you know?"

"You used to always come to school with them."

"I didn't know anyone even noticed."

We began eating as we watched the sun sink, lower and lower.

"You know, if you watch at the exact moment, you can see a flash of green light when the sun disappears."

We watched until the sun was completely submerged and a bright green flash did appear. It was so fast that I only saw it for half a second.

The world was changing and bright stars came popping out. I smiled, content with everything that was happening.

When we finished eating, we layed down on the blanket, full and happy. We pointed out the stars and just talked about everything. I didn't have a care in the world. I was relaxed. I was free.

As the night grew later, I rested my head on Johnnys chest. I closed my eyes until I finally drifted off to sleep.
