Chapter 23: Oh baby spoon me all night

After picking the drunken idiot off the ground – with a struggle might I add. I eventually got him into the car safely. Well I wouldn’t exactly call it safely, there were a few bumps and falls and possibly some scratches, but what matters is that we made it to the car. I was now currently driving Archie’s Porsche, God forbid me if a sober Archie found out, he’d have my head. But for some reason drunk Archie is turned on by the fact that I’m driving it as he so bluntly put it – “I thought I’d let you know that I’m thoroughly turned on by the fact that you’re driving my car.”

I just rolled my eyes and kept driving. Though it was odd, I couldn’t help but feel smug that me driving his car turns him on. I turned the radio on to rid the silence in the air – not that it was awkward or anything but I’m pretty sure I could hear Archie singing status quo from High School Musical under his breath as he rested his head against the window. Not having the energy to think about why the so called bad boy knows a HSM song, I hummed to a familiar tune on the radio, slightly drumming my fingers on the wheel.

Archie was silent for a while, and it looked like he was in his own little land of fùcked up.

“Hey guess what?” Archie asked me, his voice slurring. I turned to look at him as I stopped at a red light, but he wasn’t looking at me, he was just staring ahead as if he was in his own little world.

“What?” I asked, genuinely interested.

“Before I tell you though, you have to promise not to tell this girl okay? She’s really special to me.”

I felt a pang in my heart as I wondered who this special girl was and I secretly started to plot her death. “Alright...Who…who is this girl?”

I looked at him as he fiddled with his fingers and scrunched his nose up cutely, as if what he was going to tell me was horrible. Well it obviously is horrible because the girl is clearly not you.

“Addy Winters.”

My stomach erupted in butterflies as my name flowed out through his mouth like it was the sweetest thing.

Holy shit.

“Archie, who do you think I am?” I asked, trying to calm my heart whilst accelerating when the light turned green.

“You’re my fairy god mother of course,” I almost busted out into a fit of laughter at that one, but luckily held it in.

“You mean like the one Cinderella has?” I questioned, biting down on my lip.

He turned to look at me and recognition didn’t flash in his eyes like I hoped, he still thought I was his damn fairy god mother.

“Exactly, like that one!” he grinned like a child, then turned serious, “Okay, but you promise not to tell?”

Looking at him warily, I reluctantly nodded because I was curious to what he was going to say. “I promise.”

“Adrianna…Well, she’s not like any other girl I’ve been with. God, she’s soooo different, she’s the most important person in my life, and I’m so scared that I’m going to fùck it up and hurt her.”
