Welp, here's the third chapter. I kind of feel like I'm rushing this, but I have little time before school ends and I need to finish this fanfic. Hopefully the dialogue doesn't ruin it.
Three weeks had passed after Solaria's death and it was Eclipsa's 14th birthday. She's staring outside the window into the rose garden. It made her feel...peaceful.
The feeling was interrupted when a servant knocked on her door, telling her to get ready.
Eclipsa sighed and turned to face the light blue dress prepared for her. It was very poofy at the bottom and lots of gems and who-knows-what. She wrinkled her nose in disgust. Not her style.
She walked over to her closet and rummaged inside, seeing what she could use for such an event like her coronation.
Yeah, of course, she was basically already queen, but they needed an official ceremony for all people of Mewni to know. Formality and all that stuff.
"Aha, here it is," she whispered to herself as she pulled out a nice black dress with white lace around the neck and some around the skirt, tied around the waist. "Pretty nice, if I do say so myself."
She put on the dress and grabbed small white earrings. Nothing much, but, she wasn't the extravagant type.
For her hair, she just fixed her curls and gave herself messy bangs. This was absolutely NOT what a queen should wear, but she thought of it as a joke. Her mother had done worse stuff, shaving all her hair off and wearing little clothing for battle. She was judged at first, but then people saw her as a hero. Eclipsa also saw her a hero, her role model.
With a confident smile on her face, she walked out of the rose tower into the ceremonial room (imagine a church-like place, although, I think they're all atheist).
As she walked in, she got some funny looks, but Eclipsa didn't care and kept strolling ahead with her head up high. Even the MHC (Magical High Commision) was very creeped out by her.
The ceremony was pretty quick. Just a few speeches about past queens and the Butterfly dynasty, how now it was turn for the young butterfly to...well, fly.
She was given the large crown her mother would wear sometimes, or at least before she shaved her hair off. It felt heavy, too big for her. She felt like she was carrying a large responsibility, which, she was.
Next she was given the wand, the royal heirloom. It was still in the form of a sword, the form it took when in her mother's hands. Eclipsa only stared at it, too scared to see what would happen if she touched it. The guard holding the pillow carrying the wand whispered her back to reality.
"Your majesty, you need to take the wand."
"Huh? Oh, s-sorry." She sighed then with a shaky hand, took the wand. At first, nothing happened which made everyone around nervous. After a few seconds, a bright light emitted from it, covering the whole room and the wand changed, taking Eclipsa's character and shaping it to show in the wand.
It was an umbrella with a long bronze handle, a magenta jewel encrusted in the curve. The carp of it was a light purple, lined with white lace. The top had a glowing purple orb with black bat wings and a crescent moon on top
Eclipsa could hear people gasp and murmuring, perhaps because of the wand's evil appearance. She didn't care. She had her wand, and to her, it was perfect.
The ceremony was concluded and she was presented as the official, new queen of Mewni. Eclipsa walked out with a smile, proud of herself, not caring about the concerned glares everyone was giving her. She was a true rebel princess...queen. 'I'm queen now,' she thought. She wondered about what all awaited her in the next few years of her reign.
As she walked out, accompanied by some knights and the MHC, a guard came up to her.
"Prin- I mean, Queen Eclipsa! Someone wishes to speak with you. It's Prince Shastican."
"Prince Shastican? Alright then, I will go visit him. Thank you."
The guard bowed politely and left.
'Shastican? Why is he here?' she thought. Her and Shastican held a close friendship when they were little kids, but then drifted apart because of kingdom duties. She didn't expect him to come after so long.

Eclipsa walked into the small room and saw him standing by the fireplace, deep in thought. He was wearing a prince's outfit: red top with white pants, golden tassels, black cape, a small crown and black and gold boots that reached his knees. His face lit up immediately when he saw her.
"Eclipsa! It's been so long, dear friend!"
"Hello Prince Shastican. Yes, it's been a few years."
"Oh, Eclipsa, drop the formality. We both know you're not like that. No one's around, so they won't know," he said, smiling slyly.
Eclipsa only nodded slightly and pointed to the seat next to him so he can sit.
"Well, as you know, I'm Queen now, so I have to make a good impression on people." She reclined/slumped on her seat. "So, what brings you here today?"
"Oh, nothing! Thought I'd check up on a good friend! I'm going to be crowned king in a few months and I thought I'd invite you! I think we need to keep up ties between our kingdoms. As you know, we are pretty much the most powerful kingdoms on Mewni."
"So, you're here for business? Negotiations?"
"Well, pretty much. But I think we can deal that later. Right now, I'm only here to tell you that if you ever need a friend to confide in, I'm here, ok?"
Eclipsa knotted her eyebrows, sighed and nodded. "Thank you...Shastican. Now, I need to leave. We'll talk later." She quickly got up and left the room.
Shastican smirked behind her. "Oh Eclipsa! One day, my dear, you'll be my Queen."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eclipsa ran back to the Rose Tower and slammed the door shut behind her. She locked the doors and closed all the windows. Then, she ran to her secret hiding spot, just behind a landscape painting.
She put the combination on the safe box and found the black book. With the help (sort of) of Glossaryck, she had researched the symbols and interpreted everything in it. Most of it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be.
She went to her bed and set the book beside her new wand. She heard pages turning and Glossaryck appeared in the middle of the Spell Book.
"Glossaryck...I'm ready."
Ooooh.....dark magic! I'm sorry if the dialogue messed with your brains a little bit. Still working on improving that. Just a little spoiler, next chapter will make a big turn and finally get into more of the plot. Thanks for reading!
