~Back to the day in the forest~
This day started off like normal for Hyacinthus, waking up to the usual sounds of wild monster running loose, carnivorous plants hissing, and fighting between rivaling monster gangs.
Hyacinthus carried on though, picking berries and edible plants for his dinner. He was searching through a small berry bush when suddenly, his large ears pricked up to a strange sound in the distance.
Hyacinthus stood in alert and smelled the air which carried a familiar scent, and followed it. He only had to walk for a few minutes when he found its source.
A small Mewman girl, around 3 or 4 years of age with long curly teal hair. She was wearing a small dress with different hues of blue and purple. The girl quit sobbing to look up to her new companion.
Hyacinthus stood in shock. She had cheekmarks, which meant...the was the princess. Hyacinthus immediately started panicking, but that seemed to scare the little girl away. She sobbed more and tried to crawl away, hiding behind a bush.
Hyacinthus noticed this and calmed himself down. He bent over to where the girl hid.
"Hey, little girl. I won't hurt you. You can come out," he said as sweetly as possible.
"I wanna go home," she said lightly sobbing.
"Ok then. I'll help you get their. Where do you live?" Obviously, she lived in the castle, but he needed to get her talking and take her back before something really bad happened.
The girl sniffed. "Castle. I want my mommy! Where's mommy?" She said as she slowly came our from under the bush.
"Mommy is...uh, mommy is over here! Over here, just...follow me," he motioned with his hand to a lighter part of the forest. Hyacinthus was tempted to just pull her out and run to the entrance of the forest. He knew that if she was here for too long, Mewmans would take it as a huge offense and break out into a war with monsters. They've kept peace for a few years, with a lot of tension in between, but it was enough for him.
The princess finally got out from the bush and wiped her tears. "You pwomise?"
"Y-yeah, I promise."
"Pinky pwomise?"
"Yes! Yes, I promise! Let's get going, c'mon. They're all waiting for you," he started speedwalking out of the forest, but the girl didn't follow.
"C'mon!" he said waving towards him.
The princess looked afraid, but she only nodded slightly and took baby steps towards Hyacinthus.
"Oh god, we're never getting out of here,"he whispered to himself.
He waited till the girl caught up to him, then they both slowly kept walking until they reached the lighter part of the forest.
Hyacinthus suddenly felt something touch his hand. He looked down and it was the tiny princess who had suddenly held his hand. She looked up and smiled at him. She was so adorable, even for a girl who could destroy him and his whole race in the future.
She looked so innocent though and couldn't help but smile back. He took the gesture as a sign of trust, even if she was little and most likely didn't know what she was doing.
"Hey, little girl. And may I know your name?" he asked out of pure curiosity.
"My name? Oh, my name is-"
He didn't get to hear the girl's response as he had been too busy with her and didn't notice the scuffling around him until it was too late. Royal guards suddenly surrounded them, about 10 he guessed.
