•••••Sky's Perspective

"NYC!" DeMarius exclaimed as we stepped off the bus.

"Should we get settled in?" Josh asked. "And then maybe watch a movie to wind down?"

Ben nodded. "I'll bring popcorn."

"Sky can't come, though." DeMarius lowered his voice. "He's got a date."

"Aw, what the heck?" I shoved him away.

He stumbled back, snickering. "I'm joking with you, man."

I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone.

Jada Astor

«We just got to the hotel»

«Awesome! See you guys in a couple hours!»

«Are you sure you should be doing this?»

«Yes, I'm not that far along, and you're no expert»

«Fine, just making sure»
«Oh, Aiden was wondering what part you're playing in the show?»

«I forgot to tell you!»
«Well now I want you to figure it out»

«I almost got hit by a car trying to ask you, and now you just want me to figure it out?»

«WHEN DID YOU ALMOST GET HIT BY A CAR?»

«Last week»

«ARE YOU HURT?»

«No. Aiden saved my hide»

«She's a keeper!»

«What's that supposed to mean?»

«Just teasing!»

«Sure»

I slipped my phone back into my pocket.

"What's the dress code for tonight?" Aiden asked, startling me.

"Eh, kind of dressy, not too dressy,"

"DeMarius!" She called. "Translate, please!"

"Semi-formal." DeMarius called back.

"Oh, okay." She looked up at the sky, thinking. "I have a dress I could wear."

"I'm sure anything's fine." I said.

"I have a dress I want to wear."

"Then wear it."

"I think I'll wear it." She raised her chin.

"I'm not sure I've ever met anyone so...decisive."

"I hate you." She rolled her eyes, walking through the front doors.

The dress she ended up wearing was knee-length and white, with scattered floral designs of green, blue, and purple.

I just ended up wearing jeans and a blue button-down.

"Did Jada end up telling you what part she plays?" She asked as we walked to the theatre, which was conveniently close.

"No, and when I asked earlier, she said she wants us to see if we can spot her."

"So she's probably in the back?"
