Los Angeles, California.

1,354 miles away from San Antonio, Texas.

19 hours and 56 minutes away from San Antonio, Texas.

The first national tour of Newsies was in San Antonio, Texas.

I was in Los Angeles, California.

I was playing in Sweeney Todd at a theatre in Los Angeles, California.

Sky was dancing in Newsies in San Antonio, Texas.

1,354 miles away.

Another theatre nearby where I lived was doing Jekyll & Hyde.

I'd have been playing in that, but it made me think too much about him.
In San Antonio.

1,354 miles away.

"Last I heard, he's in San Antonio." Jada said, sitting down on top of a packed box and crossing her legs.

"Yeah." I tried to concentrate on cleaning the rosin dust off Cephas' strings.

"I'm sorry you had to leave him." She said, sympathetic.

I shook my head, forcing a smile. "It's okay. I try not to think about it."

The room became uncomfortably quiet, so I put Cephas on my shoulder and drew the bow across the strings.

"Why are you moving to New York again?" Jada asked.

I stopped playing. "More job opportunities. Something else to do with my life."

She smirked. "You're just dealing with being away from your boy."

I rolled my eyes; no doubt she and Josh got along.

In truth, I didn't know exactly why I wanted to move to NYC.

I did have family living in lower Brooklyn.

Maybe I wanted to love closer to Jada.

Or maybe it was the job opportunities.

Or, alas, maybe Jada was right.

Talking about it did help me let go faster, I guess.

I'd get over him, eventually.

It was only a matter of time.

After all, he was 1,354 miles away.
