A long long time ago, in a land far away lived a young princess name, Athena. She was of Indian completion. With bright green eyes. This always caught the attention of many men. Athena was only sixteen, she wasn't interested in boys. But boys were interested in her. Something that she soon will find out.
It was a bright warm morning in the kingdom of Roma. The princess woke up as the birds sang their song, they stood by her window, waiting for her to wake up.
"What a beautiful morning, " She said as she woke. Then she slipped on her sandals out the window she glanced, at the birds that were singing, with a smile then she said.
"What a wonderful morning, my friends I must say. What a wonderful morning, to see you again. Today I will go downtown to explore the wonderful things, that the world has to show. I'm sixteen you know, and the summer is here. I desire to go fishing, explore the waters, be a captain of a ship, maybe be a pirate.
But father will say no. That's one thing I know. He set up a dinner date with a boy I don't know. I'm a princess he says in a demanding way. He can't scare me to marry, it won't work I must say.
I .. Who am I kidding? Father won't let me go anywhere anyway. Here, some birds seeds, we continue our conversation later." Athena whispered as she puts bird seeds into the birdfeeder she had near her window.
"You guys behave, I'll see you later," she said as she walked out of her bedroom heading towards the breakfast room.
Now King David was a man who went by the law. His wife has passed, he's been alone for so long. "I must marry my daughter before I marry myself. She too old for a stepmother, that's one thing I know. Athena is stubborn, she will disagree. But if she is married, she can't bother me.
The prince of Dutchview, asked me for her hand Tonight they will meet, that's just the start of my plans. I"m sorry Athena, but I am a king, alone in this castle, with no one near me." he muttered and whispered as he walked down the steps. Towards the breakfast room, he headed, with a smile on his face. Today his plan will start on its way."
"Good morning father, it's a beautiful day." "Good morning daughter, I do feel the same." "Father, father I need a favor from you. Please, may I go fishing, with the cook and his crew." The King looked at Athena in a strange way.
"Princess Athena I'm sorry but you have no time for that. You must get her done, and all of the rest. The cook is the cook for a reason you see. That's his job to fish at the sea. The maid will take you downtown for your dress, then back here again, for makeup and hair."
The princess glanced at him with a stare. She then rolled her eyes, then she muttered these words, "Father, what's wrong with you. I'm only sixty. You can't marry me off to the first prince you meet. I'm not ready for marriage, I'm doing even like boys. They sink like pee anyway, I'm too young for that. Just let me go fishing, just for a short while. Then I'll get ready and do as you wish, but don't count on me marrying this boy, I do say. I won't marry anyone, but I will run away."
"You listen to me, I'm the king of this place and you are my daughter, you will do as I say. If you go fishing it'll ruin everything. The prince will lose interest if you smell just like fish."
"Fine, I won't touch any fish, I'll just watch, just let me have this, make me happy for once."
"Fine, you can go with the cook and his crew, you have two hours then your adventure is through. At six my child, you better be here, dressed like a princess, and you better behave."
"Sure, father, I'll behave," Athena replied as she suddenly kept quiet and ate her breakfast. Her father glanced at her, not sure of what she was up to. Then he began to write down the menu for the cook, forgetting all about Athena. He began to focus on how to make the prince feel at home.
The cook's name was Tatura, she was also of Indian completion and for a woman, she was an excellent fisher. Athena finished her breakfast then she quickly headed out to the yard. where Tatura and her three younger brothers were loading up the saddlebags with water and plenty of supplies they need for the fishing trip.
