It has been a while since I stepped inside this coffee shop. Everything seems too familiar and in a flash, everything was coming back to me.
How the barista wished me luck.
How the chimes rung as she walked in.
How the waiter winked as he delivered our frappes.
How I saw a calm storm brewing in her eyes.
How much I fidgeted as I shot her the question.
How the chimes rung once again.
How I was left alone with clenched fists and tears forming in the corners of my eyes that rainy night.
I remember it all too well.
I was snapped back into reality as she sighs and begins to speak after what felt like an eternity. "I've missed you so much. Nagkamali ako Ethan. Walang araw na hindi ko pinagsisihan yung gabing iniwan kita. Be mine again Ethan. Kahit pa magsimula ulit tayo sa umpisa. Wala akong pakielam Ethan. Ikaw lang. You're my hero remember?"
And with just that, all the walls I've built came crashing down. "And you're my heroine my love."
Oo masakit pa rin pero with her everything seems to fall back in place once again. Hindi ko alam kung saan kami papunta pero starting over again seems promising. Without her, I feel lost. I guess I'm no hero without my heroine.
