Before we begin, let's take a moment to appreciate season 6 and how ABSOLUTELY AMAZING IT WAS!!!
no ones POV
Keith twirled around at the distinct sight of baby blue, seeing Lance stand behind a tree, followed by a loud and hard to miss giggle. "Oh no, I wonder where Lance could be." Keith pretended to play along with his little game while he slowly crept towards the giggling tree, jumping out behind it with a loud "Boo!" Lance let out a loud scream, jumping and falling onto his butt at the sudden noise while Keith laughed wholeheartedly, chuckles echoing through the forest.
Lance pouted at Keith's teasing and stomped his foot in a way reminiscent of an angry toddler, which was in fact, exactly what Lance was.
The action caused Keith to smile, finding Lance very adorable and cute. "awww I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset." Lance forgave him immediately and stood on his tippy toes, trying (and failing) to put a red flower in Keith's hair. Keith laughed again and knelt down, allowing Lance to put the flower in his hair delicately, clapping happily once he was finished.
"Keef is pwitty!" he called out in delight, watching as Keith blushed slightly, lips curling up into a smile. "You're still in trouble though Lance, I was really worried about you." Lance frowned slightly, small tears pricking at the corners of his eyes. "I'm sowy! I didn't mean to make you worry."
Naturally Keith forgave him straight away, giving him a hug before picking up a blue flower and setting in in Lance's hair with care. he squealed in delight at the new gift from Kieth, struggling to not jump around excitedly in fear of ruining It's fragile petals.
Keith and Lance wandered around for a bit, admiring the majestic beauty this planet held until one of the suns began to set across the horizon and Keith decided it was time to head back. "I don't want to go back!" Lance cries out when Kieth suggested they leave now. "It's late though, aren't you hungry?" At the mention of food Lance sprung to life, waving his arms up to Keith so he could be picked up.
He chuckled as he lifted Lance onto his shoulders, careful to not displace the flower that was still their as Lance pushed his face into Keith's hair, relaxing into his shoulder happily and letting out a small yawn.
"Are you tired?" Keith smiled as Lance nodded sleepily, slightly slacking against Kieth"s grip and leaning fully into his back.
by the time Keith had made it back to his lion the second sun was setting and Lance was fast asleep on Keith's shoulders, quietly snoring in his sleep and occasionally mumbling something about cookies.
Keith carefully pulled Lance off, carrying him gently in his arms and settling him down on his lap as he made his way back to the castle slowly. The ride was smooth and peaceful, leaving Keith alone with his thoughts until he reached the hanger and stepped out, stretching and accidentally waking Lance up in the process.
"Keef?" The dazed toddler looked up at the figure carrying him, still not fully present in consciousness. "Hey Lance, sorry for waking you up." Lance smiled slightly and wiggled around in Keith's arms, stretching his limps out as he woke up fully. "We back?" Keith nodded and shuffled Lance around into a more comfortable position, walking out the hanger and towards the kitchen. Arriving just in time for dinner.
"Hello Keith, Lance. Did you two have a good day?" Lance threw his arms up and yelled out an enthusiastic "Yeah!" hardly giving Keith a chance to talk as he proceeded in giving an enthusiastic description of the days events, making sure to include the memory of the flowers as his favourite. He had a large smile on his face as he showed the flower that was still in his hair, pointing at Keith's as well.
Shiro gave a horrified gasp when they got to the part where Keith had fallen asleep, losing Lance in the process. "Keith! That was incredibly dangerous, Lance could've gotten hurt or completely lost!"
Keith smiled sheepishly and shuffled on one foot, trying hard to ignore the disappointed glare Shiro was giving him. "It's fine though, I found Lance eventually and he didn't get into any trouble." An easy excuse that made Shiro drop the subject.
"Can we go have more cookies now Keef?" Keith looked back over at Lance, sighing in defeat at his adorable expression and puppy dog eyes. "Okay, but only a few this time." keith remembered the mass of eaten cookies from last time and shivered, he did not want to deal with an extremely hyper Lance.
"After you've done that could you come to the control room, we have new intel on a Galra base that contains incredibly important quintessence that we need to get our hands on." Keith nodded at Allura and left with Lance to get some cookies, coming into the control room a few minuets later with Lance in his arms.
They went through the plan when Allura brought up a valid and concerning point. "You won't be able to form voltron, Lance can't go as it's to dangerous and therefore I can't pilot the blue lion." Shiro wasn't happy but there was nothing anyone could do about it.
A few hours later Shiro had put Lance to bed and the paladins left promptly, leaving Allura in charge of Lance in case he woke up. Which he did.
"'M not tired!" Lance put his foot down stubbornly and pouted, yawning shortly after. Allura laughed and picked him up. "How about we go cuddle in my room then? You can protect me from the evil monsters." Lance smiled and giggled in her arms. "I'll keep you safe 'llura."
They talked, played games and Lance even tried to plat Allura's hair until he fell asleep, snoring softly and snuggled up next to Allura.
