"Shuri..." She hunched over her workbench, meticulously fiddling with the broken toaster "...we can just you know... get a new one? I think the warranty on that one is still valid."
"No." She responded quickly, sparks flew across the room and ricocheted off her mask.
"Can you not be so stubborn for one day please? It is a toaster, we can buy another one, it really is no big deal." She flicked her mask up onto her head and spun around with a stern look on her face.
"If I can build a super suit then I can fix a machine that cooks bread." She spun back around on her swivel seat and gazed down at the piles of coils, circuits and computer chips, holding her head in her hands.
"Maybe try adding in some vibranium? That always seems to make things better right?" Shuri stayed looking at the table, but you could sense a strong, disapproving look.
"What is it you want? A toaster or a killing machine?"
"That depends, is there a way to kill people with toast?"
"Keep annoying me and give me 15 minutes and we will both find out."
"Fine then, I won't stay and tell you how to fix the toaster, Miss. Genius Engineer."
She jumped off the seat and marched up until your noses were practically touching, you could smell the fumes from hours of work on her.
"Do NOT tell me that I have been working on this blasted thing for three hours, yet you just know how to fix it." Her eyes were fixated on yours as her nostrils began to flare.
"I was waiting for you to not be so stubborn."
"I am NOT being stubborn, I will just not be beat by a toaster. Plus..." her voice quietened "... I know exactly how long to toast with this one to get it just how I like it, two and a half minutes with a li-"
You interrupted her and finished her sentence
"light spread of butter because otherwise it gets soggy when you actually get around to eating it."
She smiled sheepishly.
"So... how do I fix it? I have tried everything that I can think of and nothing will fix it."
You smiled to yourself, making sure that Shuri did not get to see it.
"Have you tried... you know... plugging it in?" She rolled her eyes deeply, so deep that they were almost lost.
"Yes, I have tri-"She began to blink very frequently and breathe deeply. "The black plug is for the toaster isn't it?"
"Yep."
"Not the two white ones that are plugged in at the moment?"
"Nope."
"I swear to Bast Y/N, I am going to kill you and this time I am not sure if I'm being serious or not."
