JC Chapter 01

PIPER

***Hi guys! Sorry for the wait for this, I was on vacation in Jamaica and so I took a little break. This chapter is going to be a little different because I'm going to switch point of view a few times to get the whole book started off. I won't be doing that every chapter, but hopefully this isn't too confusing. Just so you know, this book is called Jiper's child because they are the couple getting pregnant, but it will also be focusing on Nico/Rachel/Will, Gruniper and Reyna's romance along with a Frazel, Percabeth and Caleo fluff.

Also, if you haven't read book #1 in the series, Percabeth's Child, please read that first for this to make sense.

Also, feel free to be Grammar Nazis. ***

PIPER

When Piper had found out the news that morning, she was ecstatic. She and Jason had decided to try for a baby right after they became immortal, not wanting to deal with any pregnancy complications. Piper figured that she wouldn't get to find out if she was pregnant or not right away, but her mom had sent her a message the next morning (the morning of Annabeth's baby shower), that she was.

Between that and the prospect of Annabeth's surprise party ahead, she could hardly contain her excitement that day. It seemed like Annabeth noticed something odd, but she didn't mention it, so no harm done.

It obviously went a little off track when Annabeth went in to labor, but they still all partied later, and Piper thought the new baby just put everyone in a better mood.

She announced it to everyone when the time seemed right, and was instantly swarmed with congratulations. In that moment, everything seemed perfect: she was with all of her friends and all of the people she loved, Jason right by her side as she announced the coming of their own little baby. Since she and Jason were immortal now, the baby would be too, so she didn't have much to worry about.

Hopefully she would be able to get through the pregnancy without morning sickness and everything; she wasn't sure what it would be like as a goddess.

She also wasn't sure if she had to get checkups and all of that from mortal doctors even though she was a goddess, but she decided to play it safe. She wasn't real used to being a goddess yet, and she knew she wasn't as powerful as gods like the Olympians.

She and Jason decided they'd wait a week before going for a checkup as they weren't even positive the doctors could detect a baby that had only been conceived a day ago.

They started running through baby names, but after coming up with nothing, they decided it could wait a few months. Instead, Piper used the time to get used to her immortality. Everything was so much more vivid; it felt like she could see, hear, smell, feel and taste a thousand times better. There were definitely advantages to this, but not everything was great. Like, there were certain things she didn't want to smell.

And it was awfully hard to have a private conversation if anyone else was around.

There were the powers, too; Piper could tell that everyone was still experimenting, testing the limits of their abilities and what each of their domains allowed them to do. Piper, being the goddess of charmspeak and natural beauty still hadn't figured out much.

Obviously, she could charmspeak very well, but she could do that as a demigod. Maybe it would work on monsters and gods now and others who were able to resist it before.

And then there was the natural beauty thing. As she had told the others, she wasn't completely opposed to it, because she took the "natural" part as meaning that she was for beauty without makeup and perfect hair and designer clothes. Still, she hadn't yet figured out anything she could do with her powers except get guys to stare at her (that might've been nice, say, eight years ago or so before she met Jason, but not now that she was married, settled down and pregnant with their first child). She hoped something would turn up in time.
