Morality Play

3.1K 12 3

 Characters:
Aiden - Angel
Thomas - Devil
Kelly - MC

Problem: MC wants to hang out with friends but parents said no. Devil tries to convince her to go while Angel does the complete opposite.

Script:

K: *sitting down with a thinking face*

T: *pops up* Bro it's all good. You can go party with them. I'm sure your parents won't mind

A: Kelly, you should listen to your parents

K: *sighs, tapping fingers against desk*

T: Man, don't listen to this goofy rip-off. I'll show you what's it's really all about.

A: *to Kelly* Listening to your parents is good for you.
*diverts attention to Devil*  Besides, I'm the goofy rip-off? Your the one who's wearing fake jewelry

K: *suddenly stops to contemplate and stares intently at the desk*

T: *shakes head at the Angel's previous comment*

A: But your parents would get mad at you, and you know that never ends well

K: *hums lightly in distress*

T: *laughs* Why listen to your parents when you don't get the satisfaction yourself

K: *puts hands against head, ruffling hair slightly*

A: Putting others in front of yourself is the way to go you know

T: (says to the angel) Well it's the truth either way
(says to MC) it all boils down to fate. Now, choose.

K: *puts a thinking face on*

A: Are you going to go sit down on your bed and do some homework?
*gestures to the right where the bed is*

T: Or are you going to sneak out and hang out with your friends and have the time of your life?*Gestures to the left where the window is*

K: *thinks about it for a couple of seconds before nodding and standing up*
*gets ready to go out*
*looking around the room, she nods before heading over to the window and climbing out with a gleeful smile on her face*

T: *smirks* I told you she was going to listen to me.

A: *sighs* You were right about that... doesn't mean that your view of the situation itself is all right though.

T: *rolls eyes* Details, details. Besides, she gets to live in the moment!

A: *says in distress* Yes, but what if she gets used to this kind of behaviour? It will affect her parents' trust in her and her school life.

T: Ah, ah, ah. Don't forget about her social life. That is as important as the rest.

A: What does her social life have to do with this???

T: Having connections can get you far in life as well, man.

A: But not as much as some good education and your family to lean on.

T: Hah. Just shows how weak you are, all that family stuff. She's had over 10 years of all that. Reminds me of that poetry unit she had during LA not too long ago. Oh, I've got a rhyme for you. Wanna hear it?

A: *sighs* Just get it over with

T: All right, here it goes:
"Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you."

A: ... *makes a confused face*

T: *says in a sugar sweet voice* But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty, and so is your head.

A: *sighs again* Why do I even bother with you.

T: Cause you just can't get enough of this *gestures to self smugly*

A: *shakes head* Enough of that. This is just a start of a chain reaction that I don't want to see... I swear the next time something like this happens I will convince her to do it my way. I will stop you. *makes a determined face*

T: Chill man, no need to break a sweat. I know I'm hard to handle, I am me after all.
*gets serious* But know one thing, little Angel, you can try your hardest, but you will not succeed.

A: Oh I will, one way or another. I will take you down, no matter how long it takes, Diablo. I will win in the end on the long run, just you wait and see. She will take the right path and she will do good in life. She will not succumb to your vicious ways. *scowls*

T: Oh, but little Angel, she already has. As you said, this is only the beginning.

A: *stares at him dead in the eye* And it will be your end.

End Scene

Credits: Thomas W. Aiden B. and me

Note: In this skit, even though Kelly is the "main character," it revolves around the rivalry between the angel and the devil more; it reflects the internal battle that goes on inside of people when making decisions. Feel free to interpret it any way you want though.

I am aware of its flaws but this script was written quite a while ago so an open mind would be appreciated, thank you.

Hope you Enjoyed!
