Script:
*Sara, the mother sits at a table with Beth. In walks, Lisa smiling. She sits down with the other two.*
LISA: Sorry I'm late!
SARA: Well it's about time. What took you so long?
*Lisa looks surprised*
LISA: Me? Mother, I'm getting married! Do you know how many things I have going on?
*Beth scoffs under her breathe. Lisa glares at her*
LISA: Beth, don't start with me.
*Beth looks raises her hands*
BETH: What do you mean? I'm just here to help you.
LISA: Oh give me a break. You have been against this marriage from the day I told you he proposed.
*Sara interrupts*
SARA: Girls, settle down. Stop fighting. Geez, it's as if you're both in pre-school again.
*Both girls glare at each other but shut their mouths*
SARA: Now, Lisa, I have arranged for the florist to be at our house at 3 to go over arrangements. I have asked Beth to go to a few places for the appetizers.
LISA: No! She's going to try and poison it!
BETH: What? I am not!
*Lisa ignores Beth's comment*
LISA: Look, I know you don't like Harry. That doesn't mean that I don't deserve to be happy.
BETH: I never said anything! Jeez, what's gotten into you?
LISA: Nothing! It's just... ugh!
*Lisa starts to pull on her hair*
SARA: Lisa, Beth is right. What has gotten into you? Is there something wrong?
*Lisa looks down at her lap. Beth looks at her and realization hits her*
BETH: You know, don't you?
*Sara looks at both of them in confusion*
SARA: Know what?
BETH: You know, I tried to tell you but you just didn't believe me.
*Sara looks at Lisa but she looks away. Sara throws her hands up in desperation*
SARA: Will someone please tell me what's going on?
BETH: Yeah, Lisa, tell Mom what's going on.
*Lisa keeps quiet*
SARA: Lisa? What is she talking about?
*Lisa shakes her head, on the verge of tears. Beth can't take it*
BETH: Harry is cheating on her.
*Sara gasps and Lisa snaps her head in Beth's direction*
LISA: You little snitch! It's not your job to tell Mom! This my business, not yours!
*Beth and Lisa look to Sara for a reaction. Sara just looks down at her hands*
BETH: Mom! Aren't you going to say anything?
*Sara looks at Beth and sighs*
SARA: Lisa's right. It's none of your business. Harry may have his faults, but he does have money, and I know he will take care of Lisa very well.
*Lisa sighs in relief. Beth just stares at the two of them for a moment. She stands up and slams her hand on the table*
BETH: Whatever happened to real love? Do you not understand why Dad left? *scoffs* (to Lisa) It's a good thing Mom got half of the money in the divorce otherwise you wouldn't even be able to afford this wedding. You're going to have to get used to constantly worrying about being upgraded for a newer model, and you better hope your looks don't start to fail you anytime soon. I'm outta here.
*With that Beth walks out of the coffee shop*
*Sara closes her eyes before looking down and pinches the bridge of her nose as if she were stressed and upset*
*Lisa is shocked at Beth's words and starts contemplating her future with Harry*
END SCENE
