Chapter Three

Demi

I spent the rest of the day faking a smile. confused. I didn't know what to do. Should I let Nick in? Would he judge me? I couldn't get him off my mind.

This week was pretty hectic, I was at the set practically everyday. Was that a good thing? I mean I would see Nick everyday! Sooner or later I would have to face him and tell him what was wrong.

I tried to finish up early so that I could go home and think. Unfortunately just as I was leaving Nick caught me. He wanted to 'talk' but I knew what that meant. I told him I was really busy but he looked really concerned and I didn't want him to worry. He was so innocent.

Eventually I gave in and we both went for a coffee. It was silent but peaceful. I was grateful for his company. I loved him. Sooner or later I knew I'd had to talk. "Nick.."

Nick

I cut Demi off. I knew she would just lie to me again and I didn't want her to have to fake anything else. I know how hard it can be bottling up. "Demi, I know your not okay, no matter how many times you say it. You know a problem shared is a problem halved. You are never ever alone!"

She stuttered for words. She was speechless, tears formed in her eyes. I knew how much it meant to her for someone to be there. That's when I knew I had to be her guardian angel.

For a minute we sat peacefully, looking into her eyes I knew every single thought. She just needed to scream.

*buzzz*

"Hey mom, yeah I'm fine I'm just with Nick, I'll be home later, I've had something to eat don't wait for me for dinner"

I never saw he eat all day. She even struggled to drink her coffee. She was perfect the way she was. Was she starving herself? "Demi, you haven't ate....."

She interrupted, "sorry Nick it was nice talking to you I really have to go".

It was at that moment everything changed. As she reached for her bag, slowly her sleeves rolled up. Demi was harming her perfect body. I could tell they were covered by makeup. Everything was hidden with this girl. I have to get her to open up.
