~ C'mon and take it back, love... C'mon and take it back for us ~
Chapter Forty-Two: Loving
He was beautiful.
The morning sun filtered through the curtains in his bedroom, casting soft, glowing light across his features. His skin was kissed against the radiance, our covers pulled down around our waists so his abdomen and chest were exposed. I ran my fingers softly up and down the lines of his muscles, just watching his relaxed features as he slept, his face turned towards me slightly where I laid on his shoulder, his chest rising and falling beside me... stunning.
Max shifted gently, awaking quietly in the soft silence of the room. I smiled a little bit, biting my lip as he opened those sweet brown eyes, meeting my stare.
"Good morning, baby," I murmured, entangling my legs with his. Max gave a tiny smile, feeling my fingers coming up to run along his stubbly chin. He leaned forward and kissed my forehead, chuckling gently.
"Good morning, my little dove," he whispered, shifting closer. I bit my lip again as he pulled me closer, his fingers beginning to trace light patterns across my clothed shoulders.
"You're breathtaking," he whispered, kissing my nose. I giggled as I moved closer, my body half on top of his, his fingers running up and down my back muscles. My body relaxed warmly into his, pressing a small kiss to his shoulder.
"This is so nice," I confessed, looking up at him. Max smiled.
"What is, baby?" he asked, his words sweet. I bit my lip.
"A whole house, all to ourselves..." I whispered, watching him. "No paper-thin walls, nobody to make noise complaints..."
Max laughed lightly, his body shaking with the action. "It is pretty nice, isn't it?"
I giggled, sitting up and straddling his waist. "It is," I agreed, leaning down and kissing his jaw. He smiled, his hands holding my hips as lips came up to meet mine. I couldn't help but smile against him, feeling one of his hands come up to tangle in my sleep tousled hair. He slid his tongue in my mouth, his other hand slowly sliding beneath my shirt and tugging up...
Max's phone ringing caused us both to pull away, breathing raggedly. Max rolled his eyes and groaned, causing me to giggle at his obvious annoyance that we'd been interrupted. I reached over and looked at the caller ID, picking it up and sitting up, showing him the screen.
"Damn cockblock," Max mumbled halfheartedly, taking the phone and answering it. "Yes, Nick?"
I leaned down to his neck, softly pressing my lips there as Max's breath caught. "Hey, Max," Nick spoke, and I made sure to listen. "I don't wanna alarm you," his best friend began, and I felt Max struggling to listen as I trailed my lips down to begin lightly kissing and sucking at his collar. "But... There's kinda a car in your driveway here in LA."
I couldn't help but let out a long, sweet laugh, and Max jumped as he felt my fingers graze his hip. "Um," Nick said. "Am I interrupting something?"
Max covered his mouth and pulled the phone away from his ear for a moment, letting out a small groan as I kissed at his collar again. He pulled the phone back to his face, shifting beneath me. "Kinda," Max responded. "But don't worry about the car, Nick. It's me."
There was a short pause, before Nick was yelling. "DUDE!" he yelled, and I felt Max stifle a small moan as I bit at his neck. "Why didn't you tell me you were back in LA?!"
Max's other hand clenched around his comforter. "It was," he had to pause as I nibbled at his skin. "It was kind of last minute, honestly," he said. "Symphony's here too."
