Kehlani's POV

The concert went well and before I could say anything to Demi she locked Lauren and herself into their hotel room. I get it they've been missing each other, but the do not disturb sign is just extra. I laid in bed dreaming of what they were doing and imagining me in there with them. It's only a matter of time before we're all sharing a bed. I can't wait. I was pretty much asleep, but heard my phone buzz so I picked it up.

It was a text from my ex, Shaina.

"Hey Kehlani, Miss you. Did you forget about me?" Wow this was so random. I haven't spoken to her or seen her in months. We broke up, why would I stay thinking about her? Plus Demi's way better. I didn't wanna respond, because she probably knows I'm busy on tour anyways. I would never wanna hurt her, but I can't be distracted by this. Things are finally working out between Demi, Lauren and I. I went back to sleep, but woke up with the text from Shaina on my mind. Fuck. I put on the TV to distract me. It would feel like forever until I performed again tonight. There was a knock on my door. Finally! It was Demi and Lauren.

"Hey wanna join us for breakfast?" Demi invited me.

"Of course"

"Whatcha watching?" Demi asked.

"Just spongebob there's not much on in the morning."

"Spongebob, what a classic." Lauren stated.

"Well where are we having breakfast?"

"This cute little cafe a Lovatic recommended on Twitter." Demi answered.

"Nice" I grabbed my bag and we walked down to a cute cafe on the corner of our hotel's street. We ordered pancakes and eggs and bacon. Before our food came, Lauren and Demi were living up to the role of the overly loving and cute couple. They held hands on the table, kissed each other a lot and Lauren's fingers were currently running through Demi's hair.

"Everything okay, Lani?" Demi asked, she was concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine."

"You don't seem fine, you seem distracted." Demi chirped.

"Alright I'll tell you why, but only because I have no one else to talk to on this tour. Last night I got a text from my ex girlfriend, Shaina."

"And?" Demi inquired.

"And I don't know what to do about it. I didn't even text her back, but I've been thinking about her."

"What did she say?" Dem was interested. She even sat up in her seat and leaned into me.

"Just that she misses me and she asked me if I forgot about her."

"Aw well do you miss her back?"

"No, I miss having a girlfriend and knowing there's always someone there for me, but I don't want her."

"Well, at least you know what you want."

"Yeah, just don't wanna talk to her again."

"Just let her know how you feel, so she can move on."

"No" I pursed my lips. Demi didn't need to be all in my business like this. She's acting like she's a real therapist. Finally our food came.

"I'm starving" Lauren exclaimed. Were they gonna feed each other too? Ugh, maybe I don't miss having a girlfriend. I still wanna know how this arrangement will work out, but I know we'll have sex soon. After breakfast, we went back to the hotel to get ready. I took a long bath and thought things over. I realized Demi was right, Shaina deserves to know the truth. I texted her back, "I'll never forget about you, but I've moved on. We can't be together again."

Almost instantly she responded, "well alright then." I didn't need her attitude, but I'm happy that my message got through to her. I never wanna be that girl who strings people along and gives false hope that we'll become something more than we are. I did my makeup and caught an Uber to the venue. In my dressing room, Demi and Lauren walked in. Demi was beaming, but trying to be serious.
